🚨Cancellation Policy🚨
Late cancellations and 'no show' appointments cost me time & money making it harder to fill appointments last minute, so 24 hours notice must be given for cancellation. If I receive less than 24 hours notice, or in the case of a 'no show', 100% of the treatment cost will be charged.
No future appointments will be booked until the cancellation/no show fee has been paid.
Whilst I understand things can happen and I do try to reschedule the appointment within the next 7 days, this isn’t always possible.

Muscle scraping—sometimes called gua sha, IASTM (Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization), or simply scraping therapy—is a soft tissue technique that uses a smooth-edged tool (often made of metal, stone, or hard plastic) to apply pressure and “scrape” across the skin and underlying muscles.

It is also used in modern sports therapy and physical therapy.

🔹 Benefits

Research and clinical reports find that muscle scraping does help with:

1. Pain relief
• Can reduce muscle soreness, tension, and stiffness.
• Commonly used for back pain, neck pain, or tight calves/hamstrings.
2. Improved circulation
• The scraping action increases blood flow to the treated area.
3. Reduced inflammation
• Some studies suggest it may trigger an anti-inflammatory response.
4. Faster recovery
• Athletes sometimes use it post-workout to aid recovery and mobility.

Scientific Evidence

Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM)
1. Range of Motion (ROM)
• A 2024 meta-analysis spanning 9 trials (450 participants) found that IASTM significantly improved joint ROM when measured in degrees—for both:
• people with musculoskeletal issues or ROM deficits (mean difference ~4.9°),
• and healthy individuals without deficits (mean difference ~2.3°) .

2. Tendinopathies and Function
• IASTM appears beneficial for tendinopathies, improving patient-reported function .
3. Pain Perception, Strength & Sensation
• Clinical reports show improvements in pain, strength, and proprioception.
