The Community Meal was extremely busy, with 156 people served on the day, and every individual also received a food bag to take home. Attendees who needed warm clothing were also provided with blankets, gloves, socks, coats and essential food packs, ensuring comfort, warmth and dignity during the colder winter period.
In addition the Soup Kitchen was closed on Thursday 1st January 2026 due to New Year’s Day, The Lipstick Project UK prepared and distributed freshly cooked packed meals in advance for anyone who would normally attend the Thursday Soup Kitchen. To ensure no one went without food provision was made in advance, and in total 300 meals were provided on the day through The Lipstick Project UK.

This Community Meal was created with deep gratitude and appreciation for all our service users and our partner organisations.
Our vision was to create a safe, welcoming and inclusive space where professionals and service users could sit together to share a meal. The warmth, laughter and togetherness in the room proved just how powerful the community can be when it is built on respect and compassion.
We are incredibly proud to work alongside our amazing partner organisations Huddersfield Soup Kitchen, Danny Burrows who do an absolutely outstanding job week in, week out, and Kirklees in Recovery Your dedication, teamwork and generosity were exceptional, and your support was instrumental in making this event such a success. The impact you have on people’s lives is profound and deeply valued.
We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to LS2Y for their generous contribution, which made a huge difference on the day ❤️
We are absolutely grateful to all the local councillors who believed in this event and recognised the importance and need for a Community Meal. Your support and contributions made this day possible. Thank you 😊
A heartfelt thank you to Cllr Amanda Pinnock. Amanda has always stood unwaveringly alongside The Lipstick Project UK, offering constant encouragement and guidance.
We are immensely grateful for Deputy Lieutenant Sofia Buncy . Your hands-on approach, willingness to roll up your sleeves, and genuine teamwork embodied true leadership. Your presence and support meant so much to everyone involved.
Thank you to Tracey Kirk (Fresh Futures) and Nicola Baber Locala Health & Wellbeing (Locala) for engaging with service users and offering compassionate advice, support and reassurance. Your kindness along with giving out toys to the children who attended brought so many smiles on the day
A massive thank you to James McCord, Lisa Whitaker, and the incredible volunteers from Kirklees in Recovery. From cooking and serving to setting up and supporting throughout the day, your hard work, professionalism and positive energy were outstanding.
A very special mention to Bazza, who was absolutely exceptional as host and front of house ⭐ Your warmth, humour and natural ability to connect with people kept everyone smiling and engaged you truly lifted the whole event.
We would also like to thank the wonderful staff from Hickory’s, who generously gave up their time to help and support the day, and who also donated so generously towards the Community Meal. Your kindness and support are truly appreciated.
A huge thank you to all the volunteers and workers from The Lipstick Project UK.
Finally, thank you to everyone who came along, showed their support, and shared in the spirit of appreciation ❤️

Wishing a very Merry Christmas to everyone celebrating 🎄
As we enjoy this festive season, let us also take a moment to remember those who may be less fortunate or feeling alone. A small act of kindness, a thoughtful word, or simply checking in on someone can make a real difference.
Let us be thankful every day for the blessings we have our family, our friends, and the strength of a caring community around us.
May this Christmas be filled with compassion, gratitude, and hope, and may we continue to look out for one another, today and always ❤️❤️

Today, on World AIDS Day, The Lipstick Project UK stands in solidarity with everyone living with HIV and remembers all those we have lost. This day is a powerful reminder that education, compassion, and understanding save lives.

We honour the strength, resilience, and dignity of individuals affected by HIV, and we recognise the vital work of healthcare professionals, charities, and community organisations who continue to provide care and support.

Stigma has no place in our communities. By raising awareness, promoting truth over fear, and encouraging regular testing, we help create a safer, more informed, and more supportive society for all.

Let us continue to show kindness, challenge stigma, and stand together.
Today and every day, we stand with you.

It is a pleasure to work in partnership with Huddersfield Soup Kitchen, who does an absolutely amazing job every single week, ensuring there is fresh fruit, vegetables, and a hot meal for everyone who attends. They have an incredible, dedicated team who always show up with compassion and commitment.

The Lipstick Project UK began working with Huddersfield Soup Kitchen in 2020, when the world was in crisis during COVID. Since then, our respect and love for the Huddersfield Soup Kitchen has only grown stronger.

A heartfelt thank you to Danny Burrows and Bazza for your kind words and for everything you do. We truly value this partnership. ❤️

Hi everyone,
Just a little update on The 100 Coat Appeal! 🧥
Firstly, we’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone for your kind and generous donations of warm coats and clothing. We’re delighted to share that we’re now almost halfway to our goal.
Please continue to donate 🙏 and spread the word so we can reach even more families and Young people in need.

Here is a picture from today’s delivery of coats at Chickenley School. Unfortunately, we’re unable to share photos of the children receiving their coats, but we can assure you their excitement and joy were priceless. ❤️

Thank you again for your continued support ❤️❤️🙏🙏

Be Kind to Animals and Our Community 🐾💖

As the season of fireworks approaches, let’s take a moment to think about the impact fireworks have on others. The loud bangs and flashes may bring excitement to some, but for many pets, wildlife, and even elderly members of our community, they can cause real distress and harm.

Animals often become frightened and disoriented some even run away or suffer health complications due to fear. The noise can also be deeply unsettling for elderly people and those with sensory sensitivities.

💡 This year, let’s choose kindness.

🌟 Donate to a local charity or animal rescue
🌟 Support a community project

If you are celebrating with fireworks, please be safe and light them with care and caution. 🎆

Let’s make our celebrations compassionate, safe, and community friendly. Together, we can spread light without the bangs. 🌟🐶🐦💕

🧥💖 The Lipstick Project UK
100 Coats Appeal 💖🧥

The Lipstick Project UK has launched its 100 Coats Appeal to support children across Kirklees this winter.

As the colder months approach and the cost of living continues to rise, many families are struggling with increased utility bills and food costs. Our aim is simple to ensure every child has a warm coat to see them through the winter.

By doing this, we hope to ease some of the pressure on parents who are already doing their best to make ends meet.

We’re kindly asking for donations of:
🧤 Warm coats (all children sizes and young people)
🧣 Jumpers, cardigans, leggings, trousers
🧦 Socks, vests, and other warm clothing

We’re working closely with local schools, organisations and colleges to make sure these items go directly to families in need.
Your kindness and generosity can make a huge difference this winter.

Let’s come together to keep our community’s children warm 💖

The spookiest 👻 night of the year is approaching, but Halloween could become a horror story if you aren't careful.

Halloween costumes are often classed as toys, meaning they aren't subject to the same fire safety checks as normal clothing.

This means Halloween costumes often burn quickly or melt, as seen in this picture.

Make sure your child is wearing normal clothing underneath their costume so there's something between them and their costume if it catches fire.

Finally, if a costume does catch fire, remember to stop, drop, and roll. Speak to your children too, it might seem like common knowledge to you but it's always best to inform your child of fire safety advice.
