FitBorders FitBorders is about access to affordable exercise and alternative therapies in the Scottish Borders.

FitBorders has been established to make physical activity, exercise and holistic alternative therapies more accessible and affordable to local communities especially those who may have experienced barriers to participation including but not limited to those with a disability, those who have weight issues, those in care homes and those on low wages. FitBorders is a socially responsible company and will run both commercially viable and subsidised classes and services within the communities of the Scottish Borders. Its strap line “It’s all about you!” is at the heart of its ethos – to ensure services meet the needs of the individuals within the communities – not the other way around. FitBorders will seek to benchmark and measure the level of activity and health and wellbeing of participants, thereby being in a position to offer services that meet needs and to address any gaps in provision around accessibility, availability and affordability.

Borders Wheels are delighted to run Walk It and Indoor Walking (with FitBorders) on behalf of Scottish Borders Council. NHS Borders and with funding from SEStran People and Place Programme, via Transport Scotland. We are over the moon to get some expansion funding to start HAWICK - INDOOR WALKING - this is a 30 minute class - FREE OF CHARGE. We start Thursday 2nd October at 10am - Burnfoot Community Hub - bring yourself, friends and some water!!
