✨ International Women’s Day at Forthland Lodge ✨

International Women’s Day gave us the perfect excuse to celebrate some truly incredible women here at Forthland Lodge Care Home - and our residents did it in style.

For this year’s celebrations, our ladies stepped in front of the camera for a glamorous photoshoot, choosing their own looks and embracing the spotlight. The results? Absolutely fabulous.

From roaring 1920s flapper fashion to elegant goddess-inspired crowns and a touch of old Hollywood glamour, every resident brought their own personality and flair to the moment.

But what made the day so special wasn’t just the costumes or the photos - it was the laughter, confidence and joy that filled the room. Watching everyone strike a pose, share stories, and encourage one another created a wonderful atmosphere that captured exactly what the day is about.

International Women’s Day was a chance to celebrate the strength, resilience and achievements of women across generations- and we’re incredibly proud to be surrounded by so many inspiring women in our homes every day.

Moments like this remind us that confidence, creativity and a sense of fun never fade with age. If anything, they only grow stronger.

A huge thank you to our fantastic colleagues who helped bring the photoshoot to life and create such a memorable experience for our residents.

And to our wonderful ladies at Forthland Lodge - you truly stole the show. 💛

🌸 Mother’s Day, the Meallmore way 🌸

Mother’s Day is always a special moment in our homes - a time to celebrate the incredible women who have shaped families, communities and generations of memories.

This week, some of our residents at St Olaf Care Home enjoyed a lovely trip to the beach, where they spent time sharing flowers, kind words and smiles with people they met along the way. 🌷

It was a simple gesture, but one that captured something really special - the joy of connection.

From friendly conversations with passers-by to a few very enthusiastic four-legged visitors joining in the fun 🐾, the afternoon was full of laughter, warmth and those small moments that mean so much.

Because Mother’s Day is about more than cards and gifts.

It’s about celebrating the stories, wisdom and love that mothers and grandmothers bring into the world every day.

We’re incredibly proud to care for such remarkable women across our homes, and to help create moments like these where memories continue to be made.

A huge thank you to our wonderful colleagues who make experiences like this possible - your kindness and dedication bring days like this to life. 💛

Wishing everyone a warm and joyful Mother’s Day.

♻️ Waste Not, Want Not at Grove Care Home! 🌿

A big well done to Michael, our brilliant Maintenance Mannie, along with Eric and Brian, who all teamed up to save the day! 👏🛠️

Over the weekend, one of our clay planting pots took a tumble in the wind and smashed — but instead of throwing it away, the trio worked together to repair it. 🌬️🪴💪

Their resourcefulness and teamwork not only saved the pot but also brought a lovely moment of achievement and pride. It’s amazing what can be done when hearts and minds come together. 💛

A huge thank you to our wonderful colleagues who always go the extra mile to keep our home looking welcoming and well‑loved. 🌼

🎓✨ Graduation Day at Meallmore! ✨🎓

Who says learning stops at a certain age?

Our residents have been hard at work over the past few weeks, taking part in their latest learning sessions - and we’re delighted to celebrate their graduation together. 👏

It’s been fantastic to watch confidence grow, friendships strengthen and plenty of laughter along the way. Moments like these show just how powerful learning can be, bringing people together and creating new experiences at every stage of life.

At Meallmore, we believe life should continue to be filled with curiosity, discovery and joy - and our wonderful residents prove that every single day.

A huge well done to all of our amazing graduates. We’re so proud of you! 🌟

🌟 Local pupils help shape the future of Pitfodels Wood Care Home! 🌟

Students from International School Aberdeen have helped name the floors of our newest care home, Pitfodels Wood, which is opening later this year.

Children aged 3 to 18 took part in a special competition inspired by local landmarks. After reviewing some fantastic ideas, three winning names were chosen:

🌿 Hazelhead
🌳 Duthie
🏡 Ferryhill

The activity was a wonderful way to connect with our neighbours and begin building relationships within the community before the home even opens.

Being located right next to the school also creates exciting opportunities for intergenerational activities, bringing residents and students together in the future.

We’re incredibly grateful to all the pupils and teachers who took part - and we can’t wait to welcome residents to Pitfodels Wood soon.

Sometimes the most powerful reviews aren’t written.

They’re spoken. 🎥

Aileen and Maureen didn’t sit down to give a testimonial - they were simply sharing their experience after their aunt Christina moved into one of our homes.

But what they said captures something we hear from families all the time:
"We know she’s safe here."

When Christina needed care, the decision came quickly. A call from the doctor meant the family had just a few days to find the right home.

Like many families navigating care for the first time, it was overwhelming.
They visited homes.
They made a decision they later reconsidered.
And then they found the place that felt right. ❤️

What mattered most wasn’t brochures or facilities.
It was the people.

👥 Staff who truly got to know Christina
📞 Communication when anything changes
🤝 Questions welcomed and answered
💬 Decisions discussed with the family

And perhaps most importantly…
Peace of mind.

At Meallmore we talk about creating great places to live and work. But hearing it from families reminds us what that really means.

It means trust, compassion and communication - every single day. Because when families feel reassured, residents feel at home. 🏡

🌸 Celebrating the Women of Meallmore - International Women’s Day 🌸

Today, we celebrate the incredible women who help make Meallmore a great place to live and work.

Across our 27 homes in Scotland and more than 2,000 colleagues, women play a vital role in shaping the culture, care and community within our organisation every single day.

From carers, nurses and hospitality teams to managers, chefs, administrators and leaders across the business - the compassion, professionalism and dedication shown by the women of Meallmore is what truly brings our homes to life.

The photos shared today are just a small snapshot of the remarkable women who contribute so much to our residents, their families and each other.

Your kindness, strength, leadership and commitment make a difference every day - and we are incredibly proud to work alongside you.

✨ Little Moments That Count at Parklands Care Home ✨

Too adorable not to share!

We were delighted to receive these lovely photos capturing a warm moment shared between residents Margaret and May and our wonderful colleague Loveness

At Parklands, we know that simple gestures like a hug can have a powerful impact. Research shows that hugs can help reduce stress, lower blood pressure, and release oxytocin, the “feel‑good” hormone that boosts wellbeing and strengthens connection.

For many residents, a reassuring hug offers comfort, emotional support and a real sense of belonging.

It’s often these small but meaningful moments that mean the most. A comforting embrace can brighten someone’s day and create a shared sense of togetherness within our Parklands community

We’re truly grateful for these everyday interactions that highlight the kindness, warmth and strong relationships at the heart of Parklands Care Home 💛

🌳✨ Wishing Tree Adventure at Mearns House ✨🌳

This year, Mearns House is embracing the Wishing Tree project, creating meaningful experiences our residents would love to do. It was the turn of John, Alistair and Donald, who wished to visit and learn more about birds of prey.

The gents enjoyed a scenic morning drive, made even more special thanks to Donald, who acted as our guide and shared stories and memories from the areas we passed. The crisp weather was perfect, and our instructor, Graham, was exceptional full of enthusiasm, knowledge and great at engaging everyone.

A real highlight was the chance to hold and fly the stunning birds, a memorable moment for all. The outing finished with a Fish Friday lunch in the café, with thanks to colleagues Amy and Maxine for organising such a wonderful experience. 🦅🤍

Moments like these are what truly matter, creating joy, connection and unforgettable memories for our residents.

🧶💛 Supporting “Fish and Chip Babies” at Grove Care Home 💛🧶

At Grove Care Home, our residents and colleagues love taking part in meaningful projects, and this one has been especially heartfelt.

“Fish and Chip Babies” is a term used by charities supporting newborns in some of the world’s poorest communities, where families often have very little. Many organisations provide knitted clothing to help keep these babies warm, protected and cared for

Our wonderful resident Rena has been busy knitting jumpers for this cause, putting care and compassion into every stitch. She’s been joined by Jackie, our Senior Nurse, who has lovingly added a beautifully knitted blanket to the collection

It’s truly inspiring to see such kindness, generosity and community spirit within Grove. Small acts like these make a big difference to those who need it most, and we’re incredibly proud of everyone involved ✨

✨ What a way to finish our Chinese New Year celebrations! 🐉

Auchtercrag House Care Home didn’t just mark the occasion… they ended it with a bang 💥

Yee’s Hung Ga Ellon Branch Martial Arts joined us for a live performance - and wow. The energy. The precision. The power. 🥋🔥

Residents were glued to their seats, clapping along and soaking up every moment. It wasn’t just a display - it was an experience.

After a week filled with colour, culture, food and celebration, this was the perfect grand finale ❤️ A huge thank you to the team for bringing such incredible talent (and excitement!) into our home. You made it unforgettable.

🏆 Top 20 in the UK and the only fully Scottish provider on the list.

What a moment for all of us at Meallmore.

We are incredibly proud to share that Meallmore has been named one of the Top 20 Large Care Home Groups in the UK (2026) by carehome.co.uk - and we are the only care provider operating fully in Scotland to receive this recognition 🇬🇧

This award is different.

It’s not something you enter.
It’s not decided by a judging panel.
It’s based entirely on real, verified reviews from residents and their families.

That’s what makes it so powerful ❤️

These reviews reflect genuine experiences - trust, dignity, compassion and professionalism - shared by the people who matter most. The families who walk through our doors every day. The residents who call our homes home.

As we approach our 40th year as a business, this recognition feels even more special. For four decades, we have been creating great places to live and work across Scotland - guided by our values and our belief that care should always feel personal, warm and human.

And the celebrations don’t stop there… 🎉

We are also thrilled to celebrate Hilton Court Care Home, recognised in the Top 20 Care Homes in Scotland, following their outstanding 10/10 review score on the platform. An incredible achievement 👏

This is not a head office award.
This is not a marketing award.
This is not about one home.

This is a 27-home celebration.

It belongs to every colleague across Meallmore - care, nursing, hospitality, housekeeping, maintenance, activities, support teams and leadership.

You show up every day.
You make the difference.
You earn the reviews.

💚 If you’re part of Team Meallmore - share this.
Celebrate it. Be proud.

Because this isn’t just recognition.

It’s proof that our vision - to be Scotland’s most trusted care provider - is alive and well.
