Imagined Touch at Dance East
At DanceEast this autumn, we have an upcoming sensorium that we thought might be of interest to you.
Imagined Touch | Jodee Mundy Collaborations
Wednesday 31 October – Friday 2 November
2:00pm – 4:00pm & 6:00pm – 8:00pm
Saturday 3 November
12:00 – 4:00pm
Imagined Touch is a sensorium created in collaboration with Deafblind artists Heather Lawson and Michelle Stevens. Exploring their profound experience of living in a world without sight or sound, this is an immersive installation where you will experience tactile communication.
Greeted by tactile sign guides, you will watch Deafblind performers introduce their world through a film. The tactile sign guides will give you headphones and goggles, guiding you into a large unseen space. With 360-degree projection, expect to lose your depth of field, seeing only a blur of white and black. Through feeling textures underfoot, running hands upon faceless silhouettes, hearing a distortion of sounds, you will experience the visceral; receiving tactile sign, social haptic communication and touch choreography.
THIS PERFORMANCE IS PART OF THE SPILL FESTIVAL. TICKETS AND PASSES FOR SPILL FESTIVAL CAN BE PURCHASED FROM OUR FRIENDS AT THE NEW WOLSEY THEATRE. VISIT SPILLFESTIVAL.COM OR CALL 01473 295900.
