November is Male Mental Health month. It's important that we recognise that men find it harder to admit they are struggling with their mental health, and very often they don't talk to friends or family because they feel they should be able to cope with what life throws at them.
Sadly, Su***de is the biggest killer of Men under the age of 50. We all need to do better to change the stigma surrounding Men and poor mental heath.
My training in Applied Su***de Intervention was incredibly powerful and useful and has enabled me to recognise some of the signs of individuals at crisis point and how they can be quickly and effectively supported.
I have also completed training in Postive Masculinity and how to recognise signs of Toxic Masculinity which is a subject getting a lot of attention recently, particularly on Eastenders and social media sites.
If you're worried about a male friend, relative or colleague, then encourage them to talk, and please share my page with them. I work with both adolescents over the age of 12 and adults. I will be offering a reduced rate for every new male client who begins with me during November, as part of my commitment to improving better mental health outcomes for boys and men. 💙
