Embracing the 'lull' or feeling stuck in it? It can be about finding balance.

I have been taking some festive time off and have discovered what Twixmas stands for. It has also been about finding a balance to look ahead AND continue this festive time. It looks different for many, this is why I am preparing and taking enquiries for January 2026.

Fidgets and spinners...

*Shout out! Look at these! Designed and made by a 12 year old boy who has many different designs/ colours and overall variety (not to mention creativity and talent!).

Fidgets and spinners can be a supportive source to support clients/ children/ young peopel/ adults to feel grounded and focused. They can also help stress and anxiety with a sensory outlet.

I now have these and cannot wait for them to be available in my sessions for my clients.

'Don't forget that this Christmas'..

Busy times, decisions to be made and making sure everything going swimmingly! What happens when you suddenly feel swamped?

This is a time to also be realistic with expectations, reduce the pressure and be gentle on yourself.

You may not feel festive, you may feel like an overcooked Turkey! However you spend it, check in with someone if you need to, rest up if you want to and it is ok to say no.

Equally, enjoy the festive season where you can, go for a walk, have the extra mince pie. You deserve to enjoy it the way you want to!

Ever have days when you think your doing well and then boom, thoughts or feelings may resurface and then.. 'Hello Anxiety, we meet again!'.

This time of year particularly things can start to pile up- 'I am at capacity' and it still overflows. Busier shops, extra jobs, later nights and more social 'doo's' than ever.

How we think will influence how we feel and our actions (CBT right there for you!). Maybe if we talk back to some feelings, we may change the way we think about some things.

Anxiety may always be there and remind you of its presence- find out what it wants.

Amongst the feeling of never ending cycle of tasks, there comes a need to recharge.
A common day for this is a Sunday to digest and 'best prepare for the week ahead'.

What about yesterday or today? These days can be any days and to remember there is flexibility and finding balance.
A fresh walk this morning to do just that.

It can take alot to walk in somewhere new to meet and talk with someone.

Take a peak at a space I work in.

Based in Ivybridge, the Devon Family Hub offers a lovely warm and welcoming setting.

An experienced team offering counselling support to families, children, young people and adults.

As the evenings are drawing in, we are still open and evening appointments are available.

This time of year particularly can be tough and meeting or speaking to someone can bring relief in times you may feel alone- you don't have to be.

Today marks World Menopause Day raising awareness to improve health and wellbeing and to get people talking about it.

Why don't we talk enough about this?? Is this something we have to go through and experience and THEN figure it out.

We can prepare openly for many changes in our lives, a wedding, a baby, a house move! But menopause? Many taboo subjects attached to stigma stops conversations such as this.

When Oestrogen levels drop, other symptoms start to kick in. Lets prepare for that!

Bodies change, we as people change. Growth can be AMAZING!
