I wanted to share a little update, as I’ve been quieter than usual recently 🤍

The past few weeks have been quite challenging on a personal level, and I’ve had to take a step back to focus on my family and my own capacity.

If you’ve been waiting on a reply or support, thank you so much for your patience. I’m really aware that I haven’t been showing up in the way I normally would, and I truly appreciate your understanding.

I care so deeply about the support I offer, and about each of you who trusts me during such important stages of your lives. Right now, I’m still here, just moving a little more gently and slowly than usual.

If you’re also going through a hard season, please know you’re not alone in that. Life isn’t always linear, and sometimes we all need to pause, regroup, and be looked after too.

Trying to find a good baby carrier at Mamas&Papas in the UK… not only are these carriers NOT what I would recommend generally, they cost a lot of money! There are far better options out there, costing less, far superior quality, easier to use, will grow with your baby and last longer. None of these options fit the bill. Sorry! But not to worry, I’m stocking up on lots of lovely quality options you can buy at the Baby Carrier Boutique online at Your Birth Friend.

🌸 Throughout March you can find me every other Monday, at both Congleton Family Hub, and Nantwich Children’s Centre, alongside the Cherubs breastfeeding support groups 🌸

🌼 Just drop in, bring your own carrier or try a couple from the Sling Library. I’ll be here to answer any questions and provide valuable specialist info about babywearing.

Happy to share that I will be attending this lovely event in Nantwich next week! I’ll be there to answer any questions about carrying babies and will have a selected range of perfect newborn carriers available to demo and try, from my Sling Library.

I’ll also bring a few carriers for retail if you are hoping to buy one right away, after taking a look at the best options.

It’s always best to speak to a specialist before making decisions, as the biggest carrier brands are actually the most misleading, and staff in baby shops are not trained in this area.

💚🌼 2 weeks of carrier hire for £10 throughout Feb & March 2026 💚🌼

🌼 March is a special month for me, as it’s the first anniversary of this business, and also my littlest baby’s second birthday 🥹🥰 🥳 So it seemed only right to celebrate with you all, by offering 2 weeks for the price of 1 on standard carrier hires. My standard sling hire rates of £10 per week, per carrier, will be applied to new hires after 1st April.

🦓 This doesn’t affect Artipoppe carrier hire which is £25 per week. And newborn stretchy wrap hire will continue at £5 per week for the foreseeable future. We also offer general discounts for longer term hires.

📦 Postal hire is also available if you aren’t local to me, and this special rate still applies (although additional postal costs will apply).

👀 You can browse the full sling library on my website now at the “Hire” page, and reserve whichever carrier you like. If you don’t see what you’re looking for, or want any more info just DM and I’ll do my best to help 🥰

I will be adding new carriers regularly too (excited to unbox my new package ASAP!) so please do ask if you have a particular carrier in mind, I may not have listed them all yet online 😅

👋 Hi, Hello, I’m Sam! In case you’re wondering who I am…

💚 A bit about me 💚
I set up Your Birth Friend while on maternity leave in 2024/25, after my birth doula recommended I complete my babywearing training, as there wasn’t anyone providing this specialist support locally. Lucky I did, as I then got made redundant from my old job 🫠

I became a Mum in the depths of Lockdown 2020 😬 and know the awful feeling of having no support and somehow figuring out how to look after a newborn (and yourself).

My hobbies include yoga, meditation, crafts & baking 🧘‍♀️🎨🪡🧁

I’m passionate about supporting women, especially at your most vulnerable point in your life. Becoming a Mum changes you, and it’s a tough phase to navigate. I also aim to bring some pregnancy support services to new mums later this year, when I complete some further training 👏🤰

📍I grew up in Bolton, was born in Stockport, and now live in Keele. So I travel throughout Cheshire and North Staffs to help Mums, Dads, Babies & Caregivers with invaluable specialist baby carrier support.

As well as my Carrier Clinic at Trentham, and pop-up Sling Library events across Cheshire East & North Staffs, I’ll also be running Chester Sling Library events every other Monday from February 2026 😁

🌱 Trentham Carrier Clinic is back, every other Thursday 🌱

💚 30 minute slots are available and pre-booking is essential. You’ll get 1 week of free sling hire included in your ticket, or a tailored fit check and troubleshooting session for your own carrier, and additional hire is available at only £10.

🤎 While you’ve made it out of the house, is also the perfect place to relax and take a walk around the gardens, shops or garden centre, or stop for a coffee or bite to eat.

💚 My aim is to help you leave your session feeling calm and confident, knowing you have a carrier that’s safe, comfortable and enjoyable to wear. Soak up those baby cuddles and start the week with some valuable babywearing knowledge 🥰🫶

💕 February Sling Events 💕
❤️ From 2nd Feb every other Monday I’ll be at BOTH Congleton AND Nantwich Cherubs groups at the Family Hubs & Children’s Centres. These are free drop-in events, but you can RSVP on my website events page or message me in advance so I can plan ahead and expect you.

❤️ From 5th Feb every other Thursday you can find me and my Carrier Clinic at Trentham Shopping Village, inside . This is a pre-booked 30 minute slot where I can tailor my support to you and your baby’s exact needs. Booking ahead is essential here, and the £15 ticket cost goes towards any products, hire or support services you end up having 🫶

❤️ From 9th Feb every other Monday I’m now taking over . These events are pre-booked slots and need to be booked through the Chester Sling Library website. You can also follow for more updates about these sling events 🥰

❤️In between all of these sling events I also have availability for 1-1 consultations in your own home, so I can come to you and support you, your partner, and your little one in private, if you live in Cheshire or North Staffordshire 🫶
