Picture kinda says it all!

Heading to JFK after a wonderful time visiting my brother and family - full of adventures and new experiences.

It’s taken me 9 years to ski again after breaking my knee (skiing!) and I am so glad I saved the money to have some 1:1 tuition - it gave me lots of confidence and taught me some important technical skills for moving safely and efficiently.

As a teacher / coach myself, it was a good reminder of finding ways (however small or large) to invest in yourself - physically, emotionally and mentally.

Back to work myself on Monday!

I have a couple of spaces in each of my Thursday ā€œWomen’s Somatic Strength & Kettlebellā€ classes from Monday 23rd February 2026.

My current classes have been such a success and I am grateful to all my students who show so much commitment, strength gains and growing confidence.

These classes are beautifully inclusive - open to all ages and experiences. There are just six or seven people in the class and we work together as a team whilst working on individual goals.

We have a lot of fun whilst paying careful attention to our technique, to ensure safe and confident lifting.

We train in my studio - a bright, welcoming and calm space.

I am a trauma-informed somatic teacher and coach; I work with folk who are dealing with significant challenges - they love how strength training supports them in responding to the holistic needs of their bodies.

My name is Lou Curry; I am a mum to two boys and a trained primary school teacher.

I started Evolve Yoga Cumbria because I want to share my passion for yoga with every ā€˜body’; no matter their age, religion, ethnicity, ability, sexual orientation, body shape, social background etc....

Yoga is about listening to your body and working at whatever level is right for you, on any given day - finding the balance between challenging yourself and being loving towards yourself and, connecting to the innate power and beauty of your own body and mind.

A yoga practice teaches us to mindfully move and connect with our breath, which leads us to be mindful and present in our daily tasks. It teaches us the freedom to be still and it connects us, one to another.
