🩵 A L L O W I N G 🩵 The journey towards healing begins with love, tenderness and care towards yourself.
Until you can take a pause, notice / pay attention to your needs and then nourish / tend to those needs… you may find that many of the practices and modalities you engage with to ‘fix’ yourself, just don’t work.
Healing begins from within you, possibly with the support of others, and it will likely feel slow moving.
But you will learn so much about yourself, you will give yourself the time to gently self-regulate and you will likely be more successful than trying quick-fix options.

🩵 CHILDREN’S YOGA & MINDFULNESS 🩵
I just love these weekly classes because the young folk are so naturally curious and ask the best questions!
We really enjoyed candle gazing this week and observing the colours and shapes of the flame 🔥

So often we seek approval from others, or look to others to tell us what to do and what we need.
In doing so, the natural whispers of the body start to fade from our ‘hearing’ and we become disconnected from our body.
When was the last time you did something purely for yourself and for your body? With no pushing expectations? When you really paid attention to the physical, emotional, mental signals of your body?
Much love,
Lou xx

“Your body is like a castle”
A castle community, like a body, is the sum of its parts; and those parts need to be in good order and work together to be the best / healthiest version possible.
We are more than just our physical body (the walls)… we need to provide our body with sleep, nutrition, community, rest, creativity, mental stimulation, being in nature, activity / movement… etc… you likely know this.
But what is your ‘castle’ really like?
Are you aware of your whole body SOMATIC needs?
Physical
Emotional
Mental
Spiritual
Instinctive
Neuroceptive
Proprioceptive
… and so on…

🤎 N E W C L A S S 🤎
I am delighted to offer this new class which combines intuitive and heartfelt movement with somatic breath practices…
It is an opportunity to pause and listen into the instinctive rhythms of your body, responding with movement and breath that are a reflection of YOUR needs.
I will be there to gently guide you in being curious about what you are noticing, and experimenting with the movement, pause and breath that feel right for you and your body.
We start on Tuesday 11th November and there are a few spaces still available. I look forward to hearing from you.
With love,
Lou x

My name is Lou Curry; I am a mum to two boys and a trained primary school teacher.
I started Evolve Yoga Cumbria because I want to share my passion for yoga with every ‘body’; no matter their age, religion, ethnicity, ability, sexual orientation, body shape, social background etc....
Yoga is about listening to your body and working at whatever level is right for you, on any given day - finding the balance between challenging yourself and being loving towards yourself and, connecting to the innate power and beauty of your own body and mind.
A yoga practice teaches us to mindfully move and connect with our breath, which leads us to be mindful and present in our daily tasks. It teaches us the freedom to be still and it connects us, one to another.
The ‘Mindful Movement’ adult class is for all ages/abilities and beginners are most welcome. We focus on creating stillness in slow, longer-held postures which gently stretch the body, and improve flexibility and joint mobility. We learn how to find alignment in poses; incorporate some basic breathing techniques and build strength slowly.
The ‘Mindful Flow‘ adult class is for those with previous yoga experience. The focus is on synchronising the movements of the body with the flow of breath, including options to modify and deepen your poses. An energising and joyful practice which will nurture body, mind and soul.
The ‘Mindful Strengthen and Stretch’ adult class is for all abilities and beginners are most welcome. In this class, we will break down postures into their individual parts and focus on making sure we are aligned to suit the functional needs of our own unique bodies. Through this, we will carefully build strength and balance. We will also ensure to gently extend through the body and finish with a relaxation.
My children’s yoga classes are inclusive and tremendous fun; weaving together yoga, creativity, playfulness and mindfulness into one. They include yoga poses, music, breathing exercises, relaxation, partner poses and cooperative games. The aim is to empower children, teens and young people to develop a deeper sense of body awareness, strength, flexibility, co-ordination, self exploration, respect and interpersonal skills.
I always include pranayama (breath work), meditation and relaxation in all my classes. By the end of each class, I hope that you / your child, will feel more open and refreshed, energised and relaxed, peaceful and positive.
