🏡 Unique Senior Care provides outstanding domiciliary care services across the Midlands and live-in care across England 🤝
Unique Senior Care, established over 12 years ago, is a local family-owned provider of tailored domiciliary home care for adults over 18, aiming for independence at home. We provide care from 1 hour a week to 24 hour live in care. Directed by quality-focused owners, we're CQC-regulated and rated ‘Outstanding’. Our service is bespoke, ensuring safety, care, responsiveness, and effectiveness. We hire selectively, requiring candidates to pass the 'Mum Test' for high standards. We offer companionship, household help, and personal care through matched Hourly or Live-In carers. Services are available to NHS-funded, local authority, or self-funded clients, collaborating with families and medical teams for optimal care.

🌻 It’s back… the annual sunflower showdown!
The first seedlings are in, and the competition is underway. After three years as champion, Helena was knocked off the top spot last year, so it’s all to play for this time.
Let’s see who comes out on top 🌱

🎙️ From our latest Care Podcast episode…
“Would you know if something had changed with your loved one?” 💭
It’s a difficult question. But an important one.
In this clip, Skills for Care explain why carers need to be trained to spot early signs of change and what should happen next.
Because simply following a routine doesn’t constitute good care. It’s about:
✔️ Noticing
✔️ Acting
✔️ Communicating
And making sure nothing is missed 💙
If you're choosing care, it’s worth asking 👉 How are staff trained to recognise and respond to changes?
Loneliness in older people often develops quietly, but its impact on health is significant.
Did you know that over 1 million older people in the UK say they can go a full month without meaningful social contact? Chronic loneliness is now linked to increased risks of dementia, heart disease, and stroke.
We’ve published a new guide to help families recognise the subtle warning signs of social isolation and understand the 2026 statistics behind this growing issue.
At Unique Senior Care, we believe early support is key to maintaining independence. Our “Is It Time For Care?” assessment includes a Personalised Care Radar to help identify where a little extra companionship could make a world of difference.
When you trust someone to care for a loved one… how do you know they’re properly trained? 💭
In this episode, we’re joined by Skills for Care to talk about what really goes on behind the scenes - from training and standards to how carers are supported to deliver safe, compassionate care 💙
✨ We cover:
• How carers are trained in the UK
• What “good care” actually looks like
• Why standards and support matter
• What families don’t always see
If you’ve ever wondered what makes care safe and reliable, this is well worth a listen 👇
A big thank you and well done to Nikki, Solihull's Caregiver of the Month for March 👏✨
Chosen by her colleagues, Nikki is someone who quietly gets on with the job and makes a real difference every day. She’s known for going the extra mile, always showing kindness, and bringing a calm, positive presence to both clients and the team 💙
Her colleagues often mention her reliability, her willingness to help, and the way she treats everyone with genuine respect. And of course, her smile which brightens even the toughest days 😊
Thank you for everything you do, Nikki. It doesn’t go unnoticed 🌟

It wasn’t just new Caregivers on training last week… we also welcomed a brand new training dummy to the team (very quiet, but a great listener).
It’s already helping the team practise safely, build confidence, and keep improving those hands-on skills that matter every day.
Now the big question… what should we name them? 👀

Unique Senior Care was founded in 2011, by Philip Wright-Howarth and Philip Maundrill. Both have, at some point, been responsible for a loved one in need of care. At Unique Senior Care we therefore have an intimate understanding of what quality care should look like, and the peace of mind this brings to family members, as well as the person being cared for. This has been a key driver throughout the business’ history and continues to underpin all aspects of the work we do.
What makes us Unique?
It is without doubt the people we care for, our staff and the quality of the services we provide. Every member of our team shares the same ethos of putting ‘People, above all else’. We believe that by supporting older people to remain in their own home, we can enable them to live more fulfilling lives, and our care is always tailored to meet the individual needs of our clients. Families will have the peace of mind that their loved ones are in excellent hands. As a result, we have built a reputation as a care company that specialises in one thing: people.
Our care is unique and outstanding
Unique Senior Care’s blend of home care is based on providing a service which is the best quality it can be and which meets the needs of both our clients and their families. We are delighted, therefore, that the independent regulator of health and social care in England, the Care Quality Commission (CQC), has rated our service in Coventry South as Outstanding.
