You don’t need to eliminate anxiety before a social situation…

…but you do need to lower the intensity.

I talk about this a lot with clients using a simple traffic light system 🚦

🔴 Red – anxiety is at its highest
🟠 Amber – still anxious, but more manageable
🟢 Green – calm and settled

Most people think they need to get to green before they walk into a room…

That’s not realistic.

Instead, the goal is:

👉 Can we bring you from a red to an amber?

Because walking in at an 8 feels VERY different to walking in at a 10.

You’re more present.
More able to think.
More able to cope.
So before your next social situation, focus on calming your nervous system first:

• Notice what’s around you (ground yourself in the moment)
• Slow your breathing
• Listen to calming music on the way
• Feel your feet on the ground
• Gently bring your attention out of your head and into your body

You’re not trying to feel amazing…

You’re just helping your system feel safer.

And that changes everything.
