🎃 Happy (and Safe) Halloween from everyone at HRM Homecare! 👻
Halloween is a fun time full of costumes, sweets, and smiles — but it’s also important to stay safe, especially when opening the door to trick-or-treaters or unexpected visitors.
Here are a few Halloween safety tips for our elderly clients and community:
🚪 Be cautious when answering the door – Use a door chain, doorbell camera or look through a peephole before opening. If you’re unsure, it’s okay not to answer.
🎭 Expect local children early in the evening – Trick-or-treaters usually come in small, friendly groups and finish by around 8pm.
🚫 Watch out for rogue callers – Don’t let anyone into your home unless you know them personally or they can show official identification.
📞 Keep a phone nearby – If something doesn’t feel right, call a family member, neighbour, or our care team for reassurance.
💡 Keep your home well-lit – It helps deter unwanted visitors and makes it safer if you do open the door.
From all of us at HRM Homecare, have a safe, cozy, and happy Halloween! 🎃🧡
