Sad to hear of the passing of Patricia Crowther.

Statement on the Passing of Patricia Crowther

It is with deep sadness that we mark the passing of Patricia Crowther, High Priestess of the
Gardnerian tradition, who departed this world on 24th September 2025 at the age of 97.

Patricia was one of the leading lights of modern Witchcraft. Through her writings, teachings, and
presence within the Craft, she inspired countless Pagans and Witches both here in the UK and
around the world. Her legacy as an author, teacher, and priestess will live on in the words she
shared and the wisdom she passed to future generations.

On a personal note, I had the privilege of meeting Patricia once at the Day for Patricia held in
Nottingham a few years ago. Though brief, that encounter left a lasting impression on me. Her
books had already been a guiding force in my own path, shaping my understanding and
practice, and I know I am far from alone in feeling that influence.

As President of the Pagan Federation, I know I speak for many when I say that we honour her
life and her immense contribution to the Pagan community. May she be remembered with love,
respect, and gratitude.

Our thoughts are with her family, friends, and all those who mourn her passing.
