We officially closed our doors today for the last time.

We have had a wonderful 3 years at The Place. Funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and run by Discover King’s Lynn (King’s Lynn’s Business Improvement District) the converted retail unit was set up in 2022 as a pilot to test demand for pop up space and hot desking facilities in the Town. We are proud to have kept The Place open for 3 whole years, as the unit was only supposed to be open for 6 months originally.

We’ve hosted a wide variety of events, supported over 150 micro businesses and entrepreneurs, made new connections, connected even more people through our hot desking facilities & learnt even more about our amazing town.

The Place was only ever intended as a short term, pilot project that could be used to inform future, longer term funding programmes and ideas around town centre usage. The new pop-up units located on Purfleet Street are a great next step for many small businesses that have used The Place and when the new Library opens in the autumn it will provide a fabulous new facility for community information events, hot desking and meetings.

As you may have heard, The Place is closing its doors to the public at the end of March.

We’ve had a wonderful 2 years and have exceeded our own expectations. We were only supposed to be open for 6 months, yet we have managed 3 years! 🤩

We’ve hosted a wide variety of events, supported small businesses and entrepreneurs on their journeys, tested out new ideas, made new connections & learnt even more about our amazing town. ❤

What happens next? - The pop-up units located on Purfleet Street are a great next step for many small businesses that have used The Place. The new library, when opened, will also provide a brilliant community event space.

Don’t worry – we’ve still got lots of exciting things coming up until the end of March! 🎉
