What a week it has been for the team! Lots of great wins including hitting the trail, growing our team, and making new connections.

-Our reputation is building which means potential clients are requesting quotes for delivering their events
-Ben's podcast episode with Adventure Pro Podcast went live
-Half the team have been out capturing content around Ullswater Way (pictured here!) Blue jackets were seen a mile off!
-We've taken on a new member of DofE freelance staff. This is very rare as we already have a full list, but she is so good we needed to snap her up!

It's already shaping up to be a great year with lots of exciting events, expeditions and escapades in the pipeline.

It's heartwarming to read Muscular Dystrophy UK participant stories like these and hear about the determination and efforts undertaken on our events. Every mile counts!

"We knew the challenge was going to be tough, but we banded together to support a cause close to our hearts." 🫂

When Liz and her friends embarked on their Pedal Paddle Peak journey, she wasn't just doing it for herself.

"I took the boys with me in my heart on the day, as I was doing this for them."

Her three children, James, Joshua and Myles live with Duchenne muscular dystrophy - and through one of our family funds, she's raised over £100,000 to change the future for people with muscle wasting conditions. 🧡

"I was excited and nervous in the run-up to the event, but it was a positive experience for many reasons.

"It really was a fantastic weekend all round... apart from one downpour and amazing team spirits. I fell in love with the Lake District."

Ben Keen, our founder, recently had the pleasure of being interviewed by Tom from the Adventure Pro Podcast.

They chatted a little about Ben's recent Vietnam cycling trip but mostly about The Adventure Element Ltd.

Tom was keen to explore how the business was built, the ethos and importance of professionalism and how it presents itself.

They also delved in to some of the challenges faced as a business owner and the adventure industry as a whole.

If you'd prefer to listen instead of watching the interview, it’s available across multiple platforms, including Spotify.

Just in... a blustery selfie in from Kaz and Andy, the lucky winners of our exclusive branded YETI mugs.

"Our awesome mugs on the summit of a very windy Skiddaw. Winter conditions up there and pretty much unable to walk!"

Good effort guys, we're glad to see your mugs are already accompanying you on adventures!

Some snapshots of our team who were in Scotland over the weekend to bag some winter Munros and practice their winter skills.

Heading up Spidean Mialach and Gleouraich on Saturday and exploring one of Scotland's most photographed mountains on the Buachaille Etive Mòr on Sunday.

With a few members of the group working towards their winter Mountain Leader at the moment, it proved a particularly useful day on the hill to add to their logbook. All finished off with a Tunnocks tea cake back at the car... when in Rome!

Our DofE manager Alex headed out again this weekend for an explore with more of our brilliant freelance staff...

"The weather didn't play as nicely for our second check-in of 2026! The heavy rain held off though giving the opportunity for a walk up to Gordale Scar and over to the top of Malham Cove. A day of good craic and cake to follow!"

Alex who heads up our DofE expeditions came up with a brilliant initiative that took place over the weekend:

"January is a tough month. It can be especially tough for freelance staff in the outdoor industry, with very few work days available and long hours trying to fill the diary for the season. I find the lack of social contact tough in these months, so I tried to arrange a little check-in with our instructors. Both a weekend and a weekday option aimed to involve as many as possible. The agenda? Go for a walk, a talk and follow it up with cake and a cuppa. Perfect!"

An excuse to eat cheese AND go on an adventure with your mates?!

Who fancies joining us in Cheddar Gorge this year?

Action Medical Research Events

It's National Cheese Lovers Day (honestly, we're not making this stuff up!) so naturally we’re celebrating in the cheesiest way possible as we countdown to the aptly named Race The Sun Cheddar Gorge where teams of 2 or 4 will ride through the home of Britain’s most legendary cheese while racing from dawn to dusk. Talk about a 'brie-lliant' challenge!

Climb the gorge, soak up the views, and prove you’ve got what it takes. It’s sure to be a 'grate' day out!

So whether you’re in it for the climbs, the cause, or just the 'whey' good vibes, this is one challenge you won’t want to miss!

Fancy a slice of the action? 🧀🚴‍♂️🛶🥾
