Acupuncture changed my life, which is exactly why I chose to study it.

A few years ago, I was stuck in a corporate job that no longer suited me. The environment had become toxic and negative, and I felt like I was losing myself. With the help of acupuncture, I gained a new lease of life and discovered a real passion for Chinese medicine. It supported my mental health, helped with my autoimmune symptoms, and gave me the strength and clarity to leave and follow a completely new path.

Nearly five years on, I now have my own growing acupuncture clinic, filled with the most amazing patients. It still astonishes me every day how much acupuncture can help people. As a mum to a little boy, it’s also gives me the flexibility to build a career that fits around family life, which means so much to me.

To say I’ve found my calling would be an understatement - I truly love what I do and can’t wait to see what the next few years bring and the people I get to meet.

Thank you to all my wonderful patients who trust me with their health and their stories, and who recommend me to others. Thank you to my friends and family for always supporting me (and for listening to my endless enthusiasm about acupuncture!). Perimenopause and the menopause can bring a whole range of symptoms that often get brushed off as ‘just part of it’… but that doesn’t mean you have to struggle through them.

As a Five Element Acupuncturist with additional training training in menopause and perimenopause care, I support women through this transition in a more balanced and natural way.

Some of the common symptoms I see in clinic include; Hot flushes and night sweats
Poor sleep or waking through the night.
Anxiety, overwhelm, or low mood.
Brain fog and lack of focus.
Fatigue and low energy.
Hormonal headache and migraines.
Urinary and bladder issues.
Joint pain.
Frustration and anger…. I could go on!

I recently spent a day a City College in London with Paul Johnson, learning more about what happens during perimenopause and menopause.

We explored the changes happening in the body, the wide range of signs and symptoms, and different treatment options available, including HRT - which can work well for some women but not for everyone. We looked at research (some referenced in this post) and how acupuncture may help ease certain symptoms and support women through this transition.

As with most things in health, acupuncture is just part of the picture. Lifestyle and diet can also play an important role. And acupuncture is really a single treatment - it often works best as a course of treatments or regular support.

Menopause CPD completed!

This weekend I attended a CPD course focused on how acupuncture can support women during perimenopause and menopause.

This stage of life can bring a wide range of symptoms- including hot flushes, sleep disturbances, anxiety, fatigue, headaches, joint pain, and much much more. Every woman is different and so will experience the menopausal differently.

It was really valuable to spend time deepening my understanding of how acupuncture can help regulate the body, support hormonal balance and improve overall wellbeing during this transition.

I’m looking forward to bringing what I learned this weekend into clinic and continuing to support women through perimenopause and menopause. Acupuncture is truly wonderful ❤️
