STATEMENT FROM MARK, PRESIDENT OF LIVE PAWS
We have taken over the care and responsibility of the rescue dogs from Esperanza Del Sur, which means we now have over 150 dogs in our care.
The owners of Esperanza Del Sur approached me shortly after the pallet fire about taking over their refuge โ including the house, land, and the dogs they were caring for. They assured me they would wait until we could find a way to take over the land, as they wanted to ensure their dogs went to a team who would truly care for them.
It has been a long and uncertain journey since that day, but we are finally able to share some wonderful news: we now have a partner, and the land will be officially signed over to Live PAWS in December.
We will continue to pay rent on the land until the debt is fully settled, but it will soon be ours โ a permanent sanctuary under the Live PAWS name.
Esperanza Del Sur previously homed 61 dogs, all of whom will be checked by our vet and have their paperwork brought up to Live PAWS standards.
Our team will also spend time getting to know each dog individually โ learning their personalities, needs, and quirks โ to help them settle in and prepare them for successful rehoming when the time comes.
Myself and the incredible, hard-working team at Live PAWS are overjoyed to begin this new chapter in our forever home. With the extra land, we hope to continue โ and expand โ the special work we do for the animals of Tenerife.
Sincerely grateful,
Mark
