My teaching location today - my kitchen, sat at the island. Was supposed to be in Dover....253 miles away.... but my clients agreed that risking encountering the motorway protesters wasn't worth it, so delivering remotely. I'm a face to face trainer.... love that engagement and being in the same room as my learners, but today I'll definitely enjoy the shorter commute and the lack of 10hr round trip.

Love seeing Castleford folk come along and learn these essential lifesaving skills - love teaching this to genuinely interested folk. Tonight there was folk from 13yr old to, erm....a lot older than 13yrs...!

Tonight's Defibrillator training and awareness session was the best yet - it was an honour to hear Sue talk about her and Paul's story, how he survived a sudden cardiac arrest last year due to the quick thinking and CPR by a nurse holidaying on the same caravan park as them, and the subsequent care by the paramedics. Seeing Paul there really brought the session to life and made it real for all those attending. Delivering these sessions in my local community is such an honour and so rewarding, and the engagement from everyone there made it so worthwhile.

Tonight, I'll be delivering another FREE training and awareness session for Community Public Access Defibrillators at Fryston Welfare WMC in Castleford. this sessions are a joy to deliver and its so satisfying to see ordinary folk from across the community come along and learn these lifesaving skills.

Having a change from the governance, compliance and inspection work today......providing medic cover for a photo shoot in the beautiful (but cold and wet) Heaton Park....... love watching the process of these shoots.

Really enjoyed my day with some of the folk from Making Space in Darlington on the Emergency First Aid at Work course....... they really got into it and were a pleasure to teach - looking forward to coming back in November and December or another few groups.

Whether I'm doing mock inspections or delivering First Aid training, sometimes I find myself in a location where I can't help but just take a step back and soak up the tranquility....... this morning's location makes work a pleasure.

Had a really amazing time in East London this evening, filming content with the amazing Jamie and Nicole from Life Lessons - https://lifelessons.co.uk
This was a new experience for me and something I'm really excited about. Online lessons on first aid and first aid for mental health will be added to their already amazing curriculum that is already in use across 120+ secondary schools nationally, and getting the opportunity to spread the word about everything first aid is such an exciting opportunity. I look forward to sharing clips one the editing is complete.

It's always a pleasure helping out at Smawthorne Community Summer Gala - our first in 3 covid delayed years......so good to see the crowds coming together to show that Community spirit lives on.

Am really excited about an upcoming project - my aim to spread my passion for all things First Aid to schools starts next week in a really exciting collaboration that I'll be announcing soon....watch this space.
