"I stopped fighting my body”- shifting the mindset around weight gain
Claire came to me frustrated and tearful. She was doing everything she thought she should, eating clean, exercising regularly, yet her weight would not budge.
The problem wasn’t her effort; it was her stress. Her body was holding on because she was constantly running on adrenaline and self-criticism.
We began by focusing on her relationship with her body. She learned to eat calmly, move intuitively, and rest without guilt.
Once she felt safe in her own body, her metabolism began to settle, and the weight started to release.
She said,
“I stopped fighting my body and started listening to it -and that changed everything.”
Quick hack:
Before you eat, take a slow breath in for four counts, hold for two, and breathe out for six. This small shift moves your body from stress mode into rest and digest, which improves metabolism and nutrient absorption.
Remember, your body responds to kindness far better than criticism. Treat it like a friend, not a battle to win.
P.S. I’ll be sharing more about working with your hormones and stress responses at The Aligned Body Menopause Summit on 22nd October. It’s free to attend and packed with expert advice and practical solutions. [Save your spot below)
