Well,well ,welll....what a night !!

We do know how to throw a good event here that the Manor and how to give a warm welcome to new visitors ❤️ Craig Carlisle came and entertained us this evening for the first time and had everyone up dancing by the 2nd song.

Tonight, we celebrated Chinese New Year with beautifully decorated tables and traditional Chinese treats.
It is customary to have a fortune cookie on Chinese New Year, isn't it? Mine indicated that everything positive is coming my way this year; I am hopeful. Mavis's fortune stated that she had thrilling times ahead, to which she humorously remarked, "typical, when I'm nearly 99."
All residents sampled a strawberry mochi, which received mixed reactions. Are you a fan of mochi? I personally enjoy the larger ones filled with fresh cream😋

The evening didn't finish until 7:30 PM, and it was wonderful to see everyone depart with smiles on their faces. They all expressed a desire for Craig to return, so I should certainly check my schedule 👀

Fun in the Manor with a game of magnet chess

Our resident Anna, said this game was no good for her nerves as it kept making her jump. Anna would then jump which made everyone else jump and then everyone had a giggling fit

In the afternoon we had a visit from Wynsors shoes. Our residents were free to be Cinderella for the afternoon and try on many different styles ready for our dancing Chinese evening

Most of our residents love our exercise/movement to music.

Our sessions are always enjoyable and lighthearted, filled with fun, laughter, and even a sing-along, though it's more challenging than it appears.
Maintaining physical activity is crucial as it aids in releasing those feel good endorphins, preserves mobility, enhances balance, and strengthens our hearts as they circulate blood throughout our bodies 🏃‍♀️🤸‍♂️💪

Pancake themed community coffee morning today.

Today went a little bit differently to the others. There was lots more chatter between each other, time flew and we didn't even have time for my pancake /lent quiz.

It had, and always does have such a lovely feel about it and its great seeing the great grand children coming and enjoying their visits too ❤️

What a lovely day in the Manor

There was painting, crafting, winter Olympics watching, reminiscing about past holidays skiing, scones with jam and fresh cream eating, washing up, horse racing, winners and losers 😀

The main conversation of the day was are you a cream 1st then jam or a jam and then cream on your scone? Comments below ....

I would call that a busy day 🥰

A day full of love at the Manor today... Celebrating Valentines Day with loved ones and friends, a beautiful valentines afternoon tea! I can tell you those cupcakes were still being devoured until after tea this evening! Music to swoon too, valentines prize Bingo and raffle to finish the afternoon!. Thankyou to each and everyone of you for your continued love and support, don't forget next week its our Pancake Day themed coffee morning!

Our favourite day of the Month ... Little Movers Leeds West

I honestly don't know where Danni gets all her energy from. She puts her heart and soul into every session so that everyone in the room has an amazing time.

Today we opened our doors to the community and families from the local area came and helped spread so many smiles around the Manor. It truly is wonderful to watch, some of our residents forget that they are nearly in their 90's and try and move like the children...they loved it !!

I say this every time, but words are not really needed when you capture photos like this 🥰

What a wonderful afternoon was had at the Manor today

We were pleased to welcome Pastor George from Willow Grange, and part of Horsforth Churches yogether, who kindly offered communion to those who wished to partake. Residents expressed their gratitude for the bread and wine (juice), as well as for the blessings provided by Marilyn and Pastor George. We enjoyed a communal sing-along and concluded the session with a beautiful prayer.
Our residents conveyed their appreciation for the afternoon, remarking on how meaningful it was to them.

Our residents thoroughly enjoy participating in archery, dedicating their full effort to hitting the bullseye and it always brings a good crowd.

The ladies at Haven recently gathered around our activity table to share cherished memories of their wedding days, proposals, and honeymoons. Our residents kindly retrieved photographs from their rooms, which the group thoroughly enjoyed viewing. They discussed various aspects such as dress styles, whether short or long, and bridesmaids' attire, noting that Dot wore pink and Val wore powder blue. Conversations also included flowers, beloved pets, and the food served, with some recalling buffets while others enjoyed sit-down meals. Dot fondly remembered her honeymoon in Blackpool, while Diane and Lorna spoke of their honeymoons in London.
