Yesterday, we had the privilege of visiting St. Gemma's Hospice with Mavis and Barbara, where we donated several valuable items.
Elaine from St. Gemma's spoke with the holistic therapy team to identify their specific needs, and we subsequently procured those items. The donation included nail files, clippers, a nail lamp, sensory lights, a particularly specialized and costly oil, and a monetary contribution.
Recalling last year's events, we organized a fashion show with Jane from Yorkshire Ladieswear, which successfully raised funds for St. Gemma's. Mavis expressed immense pride and became quite emotional during her visit, though the occasion was also filled with much laughter.
Mavis dedicated a significant amount of her time, particularly on Saturdays, to volunteering at St. Gemma's after her husband's passing. She often mentioned that this experience had a profound placebo effect, as it provided her with comfort and healing while she was helping others and her friendship circle grew with it ❤️
