Therapy helps you to understand your anxiety and fears. You become more aware of your triggers and learn how to manage anxious thoughts/symptoms using coping strategies and grounding techniques. These then support you to face your fears because avoidance of them continues the cycle of anxiety.

We tend to put pressure on ourselves to achieve things every day, especially at the start of a new year.

But it’s important to remember that what we’re capable of achieving can change and is very much dependent on how we’re feeling, what we’re experiencing and what energy or headspace we have.

So aim to do your best, but be kind to yourself when your best looks different from day to day.

“Julie has a calming presence and helped me feel at ease. Sessions with her felt like a chat yet I came to some key reflections/realisations about myself. She suggested some resources that I found helpful and I could apply to my own life.”

Engaging with their possessions, their photos or their favourite music/food are a few ways in which you can maintain a connection with them.
This is a normal, healthy way to grieve at Christmas and whenever it feels right for you.
