It fascinates me how the very same landscape can feel completely different on a foggy day versus a sunny one—and therapy can be a bit like that too: same life, new perspective, different feeling

Yesterday the RCOG hosted a medical briefing for members of the House of Lords to discuss Clause 191 of the Crime and Policing Bill and the urgent need to decriminalise abortion. The session was very well attended, with a full room of Peers engaging in discussion with clinical experts.

Peers heard directly from speakers including Dr Jonathan Lord, Co-Chair of the RCOG’s Abortion Taskforce, about how abortion care is delivered in practice, the current law, and the horrendous experiences of women who have been caught up in the criminal justice system for ending their own pregnancy.

Clause 191 would remove women from the criminal law related to abortion. MPs have already voted overwhelmingly in favour of this change, reflecting public opinion that abortion is healthcare – not a crime.

With Committee Stage approaching, we now urge the House of Lords to follow the lead of the Commons and back this vital amendment. Without it, women remain at risk of years-long investigations, charges and custodial sentences.

A little reminder to audit your energy just as you may audit your monetary spending - what’s coming in and what’s going out, who impacts this flow, where do I want to make changes 💚

The countdown is ON! 💃🕺🪩

In just 1 week I will be taking part in a sponsored 24-hour Danceathon on Saturday 17th January 2026 — dancing through the day and night to raise vital funds for an incredible women’s counselling charity Well Women Wakefield and Ocular Melanoma UK

It’s going to be joyful, challenging, a little bit exhausting… and absolutely worth it. Every step, spin and sore muscle helps support women to access the care, compassion and counselling they deserve 💚🩵 and helps support people facing a little-known and aggressive form of cancer 🙏

If you’d like to cheer me on, support the cause, or get involved, I’d love to have you with me on this journey. Let’s turn music into meaning and movement into impact.

It's not the most wonderful time of the year for everyone.

In fact, we know it can sometimes feel like the opposite. The festivities can bring back memories, evoke powerful emotions and be a painful time.

This winter, 1 in 7 children in England and Wales wake up each day to domestic abuse.

Not joy or warmth. Just fear. Just survival. Domestic abuse is a national emergency. It’s putting children in danger - and robbing them of a safe, happy childhood.

Children are victims in their own right. And right now, they are being failed. It’s time to demand better. Because no child should be afraid at home. Please donate today if you can https://womensaid.org.uk/donate/
