It's not the most wonderful time of the year for everyone.

In fact, we know it can sometimes feel like the opposite. The festivities can bring back memories, evoke powerful emotions and be a painful time.

This winter, 1 in 7 children in England and Wales wake up each day to domestic abuse.

Not joy or warmth. Just fear. Just survival. Domestic abuse is a national emergency. It’s putting children in danger - and robbing them of a safe, happy childhood.

Children are victims in their own right. And right now, they are being failed. It’s time to demand better. Because no child should be afraid at home. Please donate today if you can https://womensaid.org.uk/donate/

Anyone else feel like they're in Chief Festive Operations Manager mode? 🎅

I wanted to share something real today, especially for my connections who are working parents. The run-up to Christmas isn't always magical and cozy. As working parents, we already have multiple demanding roles ... but perhaps you've also unknowingly taken on a further, more high-pressure role: Chief Festive Operations Manager - CFOM.

The job description includes: 🎅
👩‍💻 Logistics: Mapping out the run-up and Christmas Day schedule.
🎁 Procurement: Sourcing the perfect, must-have gifts - for and on behalf of EVERYONE.
🗓️ Event Planning: Managing *all* school and social calendars.
💷 Budgeting: Dealing with the inevitable financial strain.

It’s exhausting. It’s relentless. Operational efficiency is probably at 100%, but what about your internal 🪫 battery?

As a counsellor, I see the result of CFOM burnout every January. Before you crash, consider scheduling some time for you. If you’re ready to delegate the worrying to a professional, send me a message.

Hello from me: Your Kind and Friendly ☀️
Are you someone who is feeling stressed, worried, or just a little bit stuck? Do you feel like you are carrying a heavy backpack of worries all the time?

I'm Lynsey, and my job is to be a trusted listener and a helpful guide for adults who want to feel better. I am a qualified , which means I've had special training to help people with their thoughts and feelings. I'm a registered member of the BACP (that's the main professional body in the UK that ensures high standards for therapists). I'm also a working parent, wife, daughter, sister and friend.

🪜What We Do Together
Think of therapy as a safe, comfy space where you can take a time-out from all the busy-ness of life. A time to pause and reflect, with support.

👂We Listen: I give you my full attention, and you can talk about anything at all without being judged.

🧠 We Figure It Out: We work like a team to understand why you feel stressed, anxious, or down. We look at what is happening in your life right now, and perhaps also look at your past.

🛠️We Find Tools: I help you find new, practical tools (like new ways of thinking or good habits) that will help you feel stronger, calmer, and more like yourself again. This can help you deal with things better in the future.

Who I Usually Help
I help all kinds of adults, including:

🌬️People who feel very worried, , or who are out from work or home life.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦Parents who are juggling their children and other jobs.

🧘‍♀️Women who are going through big, important changes in their lives, like having a baby, dealing with sad times, or experiencing hormonal changes like .

🩹People who are hurting from difficult things that happened a long time ago (like loss or trauma).

I use different helpful ideas to make sure our time together is just right for you. I also know that everyone's brain works in a unique way, which is great!

🌱Making Sense of Yourself and Your Relationships

So often, we move through life on autopilot — repeating the same patterns in our thinking, behaviour, or relationships, without quite knowing why. My therapy offers a space to pause and really look at what’s going on beneath the surface.

I help people build self-awareness, understand themselves more deeply, and make sense of their relationships with themselves and others. Together, we explore the patterns that might be keeping you stuck and work towards meaningful, lasting change.

Therapy is about more than ‘just’ talking — it’s about learning, growing, and creating a better relationship with yourself. When you understand *why* you think, feel, and act the way you do, you open the door to doing things differently.

If you’re ready to explore yourself more deeply or to change the patterns that no longer serve you, therapy can be a powerful step forward.
💬 If this resonates, I’d love to hear from you.
