Did you know sensory processing challenges don’t just affect how a child feels, they shape how they experience their entire day? 🤔

For children with conditions such as cerebral palsy, autism, acquired brain injury, or developmental delay, the brain can struggle to organise and respond to sensory information. The result? Everyday moments that should feel simple can become overwhelming, frustrating, or exhausting.

Getting dressed. Sitting to eat. Holding a pencil. Joining in play.
These aren’t just tasks, they are daily barriers that can quietly impact confidence, independence, and connection.

This is where Paediatric Occupational Therapy turns challenges into progress⚕️

At Healing Touch Rehab, our Paediatric Sensory Occupational Therapy service uses personalised assessment and evidence-based sensory integration to create meaningful, real-world change for children aged 0–19.

We focus on what truly matters:

✏️ Using hands with control - whether it’s a pencil or cutlery
👕 Navigating daily routines with greater independence
🎮 Staying regulated enough to engage, learn, and play
🤝 Building confidence in social interactions

Because real progress isn’t measured in the clinic. It is seen in the small, powerful moments at home, at school, and out in the world, when a child begins to feel capable, included, and in control.

If you’re ready to unlock your child’s confidence, independence, and potential, our team is here to support you.

Following the success of last year’s Collab in Rehab Conference, we’re really pleased to share that we’ll be hosting the event again on 15th October 2026 in Leeds ✨with Positive OT & Case Management Intospeech

This year’s conference puts collaboration at the heart of rehabilitation, focusing on how we work together to achieve better outcomes across services. The programme will focus on real case studies, lived experiences, and meaningful outcomes for both children and adults, bringing together professionals who are committed to making a tangible difference 💙

The conference is not for profit, with all proceeds going towards supporting local charities. We are hosting the event at St George’s Church Hall, a venue with a rich history of community and charitable contribution within Leeds. Its ongoing support for local initiatives, outreach programmes, and inclusive engagement reflects the same values that underpin this conference, improving access, strengthening collaboration, and achieving better outcomes in rehabilitation services.

We would love to welcome you back this year 👋

Early bird tickets are now available. Do book early to secure your place:

https://buff.ly/kjozc3M

We are offering sponsorship opportunities and exhibition stands for organisations that would like to be part of the day and connect with a highly engaged audience. If you’re interested, please get in touch to find out more.

The day promises a fantastic opportunity to reconnect with colleagues, meet new contacts, and continue building strong, collaborative relationships across the sector 🤝

Thank you again for your continued support. We hope to see you there.

Want to know more about our new music therapy service? As part of our intensive rehab programme, music therapy aims to maximise motor rehabilitation outcomes for the children and young people we serve 🎼💫

Physiotherapy, when combined with music therapy, enhances motor outcomes and the rhythm activates timing networks in the brain, supporting neuroplasticity and motor learning.

At Healing Touch Rehab, we are driven to make rehabilitation effective and deeply meaningful for every child and young person we serve and to deliver that with excellence.

Want to see your child feel calmer, more confident, and truly engaged in their world? ✨

At Healing Touch Rehab, our new Paediatric Sensory Occupational Therapy service is designed for children and young people with neurodevelopmental and neurological conditions who may feel overwhelmed by everyday life.

When sensory processing is challenging, it doesn’t just affect behaviour, it shapes how a child experiences focus, emotions, movement, and connection.

The role of Paediatric Occupational Therapy is to bridge the gap between overwhelm and participation. Through tailored, evidence-based, play-led sensory integration therapy, we help children unlock skills that change daily life:

🧠 Find calm and regulate their responses to sensory input
🎯 Build focus and stay engaged for longer
🤸 Move with greater coordination and confidence
💛 Develop emotional control and resilience

This isn’t just therapy, it’s about giving your child the tools to participate, connect, and thrive in the moments that matter most.

Because every child deserves to feel capable in their own world.

The team had a fantastic Training Day at Healing Touch Rehab Centre 🙌

Insightful presentation from the Clinical Negligence Team at Irwin Mitchell, covering Medical Negligence Claims & guidance for treating clinicians, including breach of duty, the role and scope of treating clinicians, as well as reporting, communication, and disclosures. Huge thanks to Lauren Webb and Kim McCleery for sharing their expertise and real-world insights.

We also had a comprehensive and engaging case management update from Caroline Phelps at Phelps Case Management Consultants, exploring the life cycle of a case, funding considerations, and the benefits of vocational input, sparking some great discussions across the team.

A real highlight was our wellbeing training and practical workshop on work-related stress management, led by Consultant Neuropsychologist Dr Ben Marram. The session focused on understanding our value systems and how reflecting on these can lead to meaningful, positive behaviour changes, an invaluable takeaway for the team!

Days like this offer insight into performing at a high standard while also understanding the importance of self-care and managing behaviours that, in such an intense and demanding area of work, could easily lead to burnout.

They are a powerful reminder of the importance of pausing, reflecting, and investing in ourselves. Thank you, Ben Marram, for your invaluable contribution to the day and for showing your authentic self!

At Healing Touch Rehab, we believe in joined-up care built around the whole child. Working alongside paediatric physiotherapy, this new service strengthens our ability to provide personalised support that helps children build confidence, independence, and everyday participation ✨

Our new music therapy service, part of our intensive rehab programme, aims to maximise motor rehabilitation outcomes for the children and young people we serve 🎶✨

At Healing Touch Rehab, we are driven to make rehabilitation effective and deeply meaningful for every child and young person we serve and to deliver that with excellence.

We believe:

🌟 Engagement drives outcomes
😊 Emotion enhances motor learning
📈 Motivation increases effort
🥁 Rhythm supports the brain to learn
💙 Therapy should feel purposeful, not passive

Research shows significant improvements in motor function when physiotherapy and music therapy are used in conjunction, and the combination can positively influence motor outcomes in children and young adults with complex neurodisability.

We believe that rehabilitation should be more than repetition. It should be motivating, meaningful and neurologically informed.

Are you concerned about your child’s progressive scoliosis, hip dislocation risk, ongoing pain, or difficulty achieving comfortable, well-aligned positioning in sitting or lying?

If your child has cerebral palsy or other neurological conditions, these concerns are often the visible tip of a much deeper postural and structural picture. What we don’t intervene early, can often be difficult to manage effectively later.

Goldsmith Body Symmetry Assessment is a critical foundation for early, informed intervention.

The Assessment offers:

🔷 Fundamental to maximising health outcomes
🔷 Enables early intervention, informing progression and prognosis
🔷 Limits progression of deformities
🔷 Monitors hip integrity over time
🔷 Guides the direction of postural equipment provision
🔷 Provides insight into long-term outcomes, including functional prognosis considerations
🔷 Demonstrates and supports funding requirements
🔷 Helps devise effective 24-hour postural management plans

At Healing Touch Rehab Centre, our specialised Measurement Clinics provide structured, evidence-informed assessment of body symmetry to support timely clinical decision-making. The assessments are carried out with detailed measurements, supporting the families and wider teams involved.

Our Measurement Clinics are now open for bookings.

📍 Suitable for children and adults with neurological conditions, developmental delay, postural asymmetry, scoliosis or hip concerns
📅 Limited assessment slots available each month
