Healing with sound has been in existence for many thousands of years across many different cultures. At Grounded Sound, I combine this ancient wisd

om with modern understanding of sound science and biofield energy to rebalance mind, body and spirit, as taught by the International Sound Healing Academy as 'integral sound healing'. Using a variety of soothing instruments as well as my voice, specific sound frequencies are created which, coupled with your intention set for each session, have a restorative and re-balancing effect on the mind, body and spirit. Sound therapy benefits include anxiety and stress reduction, pain reduction, improved sleep, deep relaxation, expanded awareness and a sense of wholeness. Physiologically, sound therapy has also been proven to lower blood pressure, slow the heart rate and brain waves to induce a sense of calm, increase oxytocin and melatonin (to aid relaxation) and nitric oxide levels (to help blood flow), reduce cortisol levels (the so-called stress hormone) and release endorphins (the feel good factor). A sound therapy session, tailored to your specific needs, can bring a deep relaxation and healing. Using healing sound we are able to push through any mental or emotional resistance to release any suppressed emotions and reform new patterns of health and wellness. We are all unique vibratory beings, so working with each individual client, I provide a bespoke session to assess your personal energy each time and work with you to bring your mind, body and spirit back to their natural alignment and balance for optimum well being. I will guide you back to sound health using a number of healing instruments including Tibetan singing bowls, crystal bowls, tuning forks, drum, gong and chimes as well as my soothing and soulful voice. It's a non-pharmaceutical prescription for self-healing with only positive side-effects including increased vitality, relaxation, peace, stress release, empowerment to improve your state of health and well-being and even a feeling of deeper connection and spiritual awareness, if that's your intention.

I want to share a little appreciation for the group work I do!
Group sound has always been a really special part of what I offer — and if you’ve been at one of those sessions, you’ll know the magic of softening together in a shared space. I love those sessions, and I love the people who come to them.

Even though things have been shifting in my work recently, the group spaces are still very much part of what I do. They have their own beauty, their own energy, and their own way of gently supporting people. They’ll continue to be woven into my work as these spaces are so very needed.

Group sound baths are pretty awesome, but why is my one‑to‑one work such a meaningful part of what I do...?
In these individual sessions, people settle in a way they often can’t in a group. There’s space to breathe, to feel, to let your body speak.
We follow what your system is doing, not what the room is doing.
And when we work like that — slowly, safely, at your pace — things shift in a way that ripples into the rest of your life.

Over the past year, quite a few people who first came to groups or relaxation sessions have moved into one‑to‑one work with me, and they’ve shared that it’s been unexpectedly powerful. More grounding, more clarity, more lasting change.

I’ve been thinking about the people who will gather for Reset Your Nervous System - a day to rebalance and relax, and I wanted to share who this retreat is really for — because sometimes we don’t realise we’re the ones who need it.

This day is for you if…

• You’ve been carrying too much for too long and your body is asking for a pause.
• You’re tired of feeling “on edge” and want to feel steady again.
• You crave gentle company — being in a room where you don’t have to perform or be “fine.”
• You want simple tools that actually work, not overwhelming routines you’ll never stick to.
• You miss feeling like yourself, and you’re ready to reconnect with that quieter, softer part of you.
• You want to learn how to regulate when things are good, so the tools are there when life gets wobbly.

I've been thinking a lot about the title of my upcoming retreat — A Day to Reset Your Nervous System — and I want to share what that really means.

Because the nervous system isn’t a machine with a “factory setting.”
It doesn’t hard‑reset in one go.
It’s alive, responsive, always shifting to help us meet the world.

But what a day like this can do — especially in a small, gentle group — is help your system rebalance.

When we spend time with safe people…
when we hum, breathe, stretch, rest, laugh, move, ground, and sit together…
when we’re held in a calm, steady space…
the nervous system starts to soften.
It recalibrates.
It remembers what safety feels like.

And that remembering is powerful.

It means you leave feeling more resourced, more connected, more able to move through your days without tipping into overwhelm so quickly.
It means the simple tools we practice together become easier to reach for when life gets wobbly.
It means you’re not doing it alone — you’re leaning in to community, which is one of the most regulating things we have.

Last time I ran a day like this, people told me they felt “lighter,” “more themselves,” “held,” and “able to breathe fully again.” It felt "magical and deeply moving". That’s the kind of shift that stays with you.

On Sunday 10th May at The Roundhouse, we’ll weave a nourishing day with mantra, mindfulness, grounding, movement, rest, connection — and we’ll close with a soothing sound bath to help everything settle.

It’s intimate, warm, and held with care.
