🌀Dizziness and vertigo are often used interchangeably, but they can describe very different sensations, differences that can significantly impact diagnosis and treatment.

Using accurate language can make all the difference in providing effective care.

👉 How would you describe your experience?

Our Own Group Members sharing stories of their life with a balance condition. Our "fabulous five" Claire, Gemma, Riza, Diana and Judith - all members, all with different conditions and different journeys, share their own intimate details of how they have met and mostly conquered the challenges of serious and chronic balance conditions.

If you have a balance condition do watch and listen to these five real life stories, they will help you in so many ways to move towards a better place in your own journey.

Even if you don't have a balance condition, do watch these wonderful generous people, tell of how they have met with adversity, but all in their own way have then discovered and learnt "how to fight back", cope and develop skills and attributes that now have them in a much happier and better place. Truly inspirational.

Group Meeting Video - 12th April. Our Expert Guest speaker was Sarah Burns - NHS Audiologist and mindfulness expert.. Sarah presented - "Mindfulness for the Dizzy Patient - Calm your thoughts, Calm your body" Followed by a Q&A session – for members questions. Sarah’s decades of experience and understanding with all types of balance disorder patients, has given her a perfect vantage point to find, develop strategies & processes that apply the concept of mindfulness to the often overly stressed and fatigued minds that we experience when dealing with the significant disruption and anxieties that our conditions cause.

We also touched upon the importance of recognising that fear prevents much of our rational thinking and is normally the enemy of our recovery - so learning to control that fear is very important.

In Addition – A short Update From Dr Andrew Jones – Manchester University On Persistent Postural-Perceptual Dizziness (3PD) Study
Where qualifying members are invited & encouraged to participate.

We are free to join and welcome anyone for anywhere with a balance condition. You never need be alone.
