Our Story

The aim of this page is to reducing the stigma of mental health. Together we can increase our understanding of psychology. Let’s promote positive thinking. Along the way I hope to encourage the physical use our bodies and minds. Let’s walk in Muddy Boots in muddy places, barefoot on the sand or pull on hiking boots and head on up a trail. Engaging in nature is, in my opinion, an amazing cure all. Let’s share these experiences together on this page.

As a compassionate companion for Harpenden residents living with dementia, I support the person living with the diagnosis and provide relief to their support unit (families and friends). Too often I hear ‘I wish I’d found you earlier’. So through this page I try and share a little of the work I do and ideas for carers to share with their loved ones living with dementia.

Family, pets, friends and community are the key to battling loneliness. My connections feature on this page, especially my DoberPrincess Hazel and the DoberGoof Douglas. The wonders of the social age help us to be ever more connected, share ideas and move forward into a compassionate, informed society.

If you enjoy the articles, poetry, music, photographs and the odd joke please let me know and share the word. Together we are the difference.
