Happy hooves eal centre is being created to offer the opportunity for everyone to benefit from learning alongside horses. "The psychological benefits of working with horses are being recognised by growing numbers of therapists who work with autistic children, young people with behavioural problems, adults with depression or people with addiction" ( Tracey McVeigh The Guardian ). There is also increasing evidence of the positive affect that horses can have for many other groups such as those with eating disorders, dementia, the long term unemployed etc etc so in short everyone can benefit. We have chosen to focus on using Clydesdale horses primarily as we have found despite their great size the have the kindest calmest natures of any horses we have worked with. They are also classed as a rare breed so we hope to also support them in showing the versatility of their breed.

Today during our home Ed group we spent some time hand feeding baby budgies, doing some great pastel bonfire pictures, flew some owls, held rats and hamster, fed Bert the dog lots of treats and made some story board plans for the animal films we are planning to make next week!! Not to mention giving treats to lots of other animals! Phew!😮‍💨 what a busy morning!!

Earlier this week we took some of the animals along to the careers event at Inspired you college Lincoln. We have been lucky enough to work with the staff and students for several years now offering supported work experience placements. These students have been a wonderful addition to our team and have learnt lots of animal care and work place skills
