🌿 Why We’re Fundraising for a Garden Tearoom
Living with dementia can make even simple outings feel overwhelming. Many of our residents find trips to larger cafés or restaurants difficult because busy environments — with crowds, loud noises, unfamiliar spaces, and lots of movement — can cause confusion, anxiety, and distress. What should be an enjoyable experience can quickly become disorienting or frightening.
That’s why we’re fundraising to build a tearoom in our garden — a calm, familiar, and accessible space where our residents can relax, enjoy a cup of tea with family and friends, and experience the comfort of a social outing without the challenges of leaving home.
The garden tearoom will provide a safe and supportive environment designed specifically with dementia in mind: familiar surroundings, gentle sounds, natural light, and the reassurance of staff and loved ones nearby.
For many of our residents, this space will offer not only joy and connection, but also a sense of independence and dignity — the chance to share meaningful moments in a place where they feel secure and valued.
