My journey with Reiki wasn’t planned — it unfolded slowly, almost quietly, and if you’d told me a few years ago I’d be practising Reiki, I probably wouldn’t have believed you……
When I began my aromatherapy training, I thought I’d hate the massage side of things.
With a science background, I wanted to formulate, to create, to understand the chemistry.
Then came my first massage class — and I was completely hooked.
The anatomy, the way the body holds tension, the changes that happen before, during, and after a treatment — it fascinated me.
But as I practised, I started to notice something more.
Massage wasn’t just about muscles.
It was about connection, trust, and presence.
The more I worked, the more I began to sense the energetic side of things — something I couldn’t quite explain.
At first, it unsettled me. I didn’t know what to do with what I was feeling.
Then one day, a client’s energy was so strong that it physically hurt.
That moment made me realise I needed a better way to understand and channel energy — to support my clients and also protect myself.
So I researched, and that’s how I found Reiki.
I tried it, spoke to other therapists, and realised many had experienced the same thing.
They told me how Reiki had changed their work — and I could see why.
I trained, loved it, and over time continued my attunement so I could practise professionally.
Now, Reiki has become a gentle, grounding part of what I do.
It’s a way to support those who may not want touch, who feel out of balance, or who simply need space to let go.
It’s something I use often in my work at Arthur Rank Hospice, and it continues to remind me how powerful stillness, presence, and quiet connection can be.
To find out more about what I do, why not visit the website, book an appointment and embrace the stillness that follows.
