"I just wanted to say how much I genuinely enjoyed the Men Who Inspire event. It was powerful, honest and exactly the kind of space men need more of. The conversations in the room, the openness from the speakers and the atmosphere you created made it a standout event for me" - Joel

A wonderful review from one of the participants in last weeks 'Men Who Inspire' event to celebrate Int. Men's Day 2025.

We discussed mental health, su***de prevention, recovery from addiction and the power of connecting with others.
One outstanding takeaway was - don't just send memes or a WhatsApp - give ya mate a call and have a catch up.

Here's to supporting each other more..

We are buzzing with how our Men who Inspire - 2025 International Men's Day event went ๐Ÿ˜Œ

There were some heavy subjects discussed, but it was balanced out with laughter and a genuine interest in Wellness from all our great attendees. We couldnโ€™t be prouder to say we hosted it!

After a little roam around our pop ups (and everyone enjoying plenty of free drinks thanks to Can ๐Ÿ˜‰) we locked in with some moving and engaging talks from some of the best blokes (and ladies) in the Wellness industry.

With James Smethurst hosting, Saeed Olayiwola , Stephen Weatherhead, and Deryn Basnett discussed the 'Power of Checking In'. It was a great reminder for us to properly look out for those around us, and that sometimes Iโ€™m OK, doesnโ€™t actually mean Iโ€™m OK.

We then moved on to New Chapters, New Choices. This is a powerful talk about addiction from Lee Butler, Stephen Melling and Steve Jones. They reminded us that being in recovery shouldnโ€™t be stigmatised, it should be boasted about. It takes work everyday not to slip back into bad habits, it shows strength. Being in recovery isnโ€™t a weakness, itโ€™s a sign that you consciously hold yourself responsible everyday.

Our final talk was the Power of Connection, hosted by Scott McLellan. He gave some interesting insights into how we are more connected than, and more isolated than weโ€™ve ever been. Scott helped highlight the trap many of us fall into, which is not taking online communications with mates seriously. Weโ€™ve all done it before, sent a meme as a reply when a mate is down, instead of proactively listening. Now more than ever itโ€™s important to get away from the screen, sit down in real life, and enjoy some genuine human connections.

Weโ€™d honestly like to say a massive thank you to all our guest speakers for donating their time to come and inspire the people of Liverpool, and help remind the world that you donโ€™t have to live miserably.

If you came and joined us, let us know what moments stood out for you the most down in the comments below ๐Ÿ‘‡

Firstly, a huge thank you to our speakers - not only for taking the time to join us, but for sharing their raw, honest experiences. It's not always easy to talk about tough times, especially to a room full of people!

Thank you to James Smethurst, our host with the most, and BOXPARK Liverpool this year's chosen venue.

Last and, most certainly, not least - thank you to WitC Founder Clare Ellis - another fantastic year of opening up conversations that allow people to know that they're not alone.

Now, who is already looking forward to next year?

And in the blink of an eye, we completed 650 miles, 9 check points and lots of fundraising.
The figure was estimated at over ยฃ50,000 raised for and and I were so proud to be a small part of the team.
I was fighting a chest infection so at times my fitness wasn't the best and it meant that we didn't achieve the ranking James wanted, but we had a real laugh and made some great memories and lots of new friends.

Day Two review.. we travelled from Newcastle to Darlington, then onto Sheffield and finished up in Norwich.
Arriving at Norwich F.C was quite significant as the challenge was to find the two seats that were featured in the mental health video. [Check out a bit further down my grid and you will spot it ]

Issues with mental health, aren't always what we think. This is why su***de is significantly difficult to prevent. Speaking confidently and compassionately about our mental health is so important. Talking saves lives.

offer peer support to children bereaved by su***de.
Our challenge on Race For A Reason was fun, but we never forgot why we were doing it.
If you are able, please donate. Link in the bio.

Wellness isnโ€™t a trend - itโ€™s personal.

For some, wellness means a long walk and a quiet mind. Maybe even a bubble bath to unwind ๐Ÿซง
For others, itโ€™s therapy, journaling, or connecting with friends who really get it.

Thereโ€™s no universal checklist - and thatโ€™s the beauty of it.
True wellness meets you where you are and grows with you - and it's something that we're here to help you with.

So ask yourself today: what does wellness mean to you right now?
