What’s in my counselling room?

When you walk into my counselling room, I don’t want you to feel like you’ve stepped into a service.
I want you to feel met, as a person, not a problem to be solved.

There are blankets to wrap around you, fidget toys to hold, books that remind you who you are, and small, gentle things that help you breathe a little easier. Knowing this space is here for you, when you need it.

Someone you love has shared a part of themselves with you. They’ve ’come out’ and they’re hoping you’ll understand…

For them, that moment might have felt terrifying, full of uncertainty, fear, or relief. They’ve trusted you with something deeply real.

But what about you?

You might need space too, to process what’s changed, to make sense of your feelings, or to understand more about what being q***r really means.

Maybe it’s your child, your partner, or someone close to you who’s come out, and it’s brought up questions about love, family, faith, safety, or even your place in the world.

I’m Rach, a q***r counsellor who supports not only the LGBTQ+ community, but also the people who love them.

In my sessions, here in Liverpool, and online across the globe, there’s room for every feeling, every question, every worry, even the ones that feel hard to say out loud.

You don’t have to have the right words.
You just have to start where you are.

We don’t rush your healing here.
We meet it, slowly, together.

You were never broken.
You learned to hold a lot by yourself.

Therapy isn’t about ‘fixing’
it’s about letting someone in to what’s real.

The tears that never had company.
The parts that still brace for rejection.
The tenderness that never stopped wanting to be met.

Here, we go gently, with warmth, presence, and care.
Together, we meet what was never meant to be faced alone.

This Sunday 28th, Liverpool Trans Pride March 🏳️‍⚧️

This Sunday, Liverpool comes together for Trans Pride 🏳️‍⚧️

12pm Assemble at St Luke’s (Bombed Out Church), Berry Street
12:30pm March begins
1pm Speeches at Derby Square

Alongside the march, you can also visit the Liverpool Trans Pride Bazaar at LUSH Liverpool (38-46 Church St), 11-5. The events room is elevator-accessible, with artists, makers and community stalls.

Our q***r community are stronger together, feeling connected and being with others sharing their experiences can be so moving and powerful. The world can feel tough right now, there are safe spaces for you 🏳️‍⚧️

If you feel the need to pause during the day, think about:
🏳️‍⚧️ Drinking water or having a snack.
🏳️‍⚧️ Stepping aside into a quieter space when you need to.
🏳️‍⚧️ Take a moment to feel your feet on the ground
🏳️‍⚧️ Affirm that you are worthy, and you are enough, exactly as you are

However you show up, marching, browsing, or simply being present, you are enough, and you are welcome.

Whether you’re dancing in the streets, watching from the sidelines, setting boundaries, or just getting through the day… your Pride is real.

There is no one right way to be q***r.
No one right way to belong.
You don’t have to perform it.
You don’t have to explain it.
Just being here is enough.

You are deeply valid.

🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈 Happy Liverpool Pride - with love, rage, rest and solidarity.

Statement from Liverpool Q***r Minds
In Response to the UK Supreme Court Ruling on Gender

Today, the UK Supreme Court ruled that the terms “woman” and “s*x” in the Equality Act 2010 refer exclusively to biological s*x, excluding transgender women—even those with Gender Recognition Certificates—from certain legal definitions and protections.

At Liverpool Q***r Minds, we recognise the profound impact this decision has on our transgender and non-binary communities. This ruling not only challenges the legal recognition of trans individuals but also risks further marginalising those who already face significant societal hurdles.

We affirm:
Trans rights are human rights. Every individual deserves recognition, respect, and equal protection under the law, regardless of their gender identity.

Our commitment remains unwavering. Liverpool Q***r Minds continues to provide a safe, inclusive, and affirming space for all LGBTQIA+ individuals. We are here to support you, especially during times when legal decisions may feel invalidating or distressing

Solidarity is essential. We stand with trans and non-binary communities, advocating for policies and practices that uphold dignity and equality for all.

If today’s news has affected you, please reach out. You’re not alone, your identity is valid.

In solidarity,
Liverpool Q***r Minds
