Here’s an idea. Let’s see if it gets any ‘traction’. Who’s up for a fundraising / awareness raising event in September? Here’s the Plan –

Saturday/Sunday September 24/25 is the weekend following the Autumn Equinox when the hours of light for day / night are of roughly equal length (hence ‘equinox’).

We could do an Asperger Autumn Equinox event (we’re thinking of a catchy event name at the moment – any ideas?), based on a tandem bike ride involving 24 people spread over those two days. Basically, using somewhere like the Wirral Way (safe cycling etc.) we could have relays of two people each riding the tandem for an hour and aiming to do 15.25 miles in that hour. We would have 12 relays (i.e. 12 hours – to fit the concept of ‘equinox’) on both days.

The aim of 15.25 miles for each hour’s ride is because 24 (total hours) x 15.25 = 366 and so the number of the days in this year.

Ideally we’re aiming for mixed pairs – 12 men, 12 women – and for as good a mix as possible of people with Aspergers, carers, and supporters. We could have 6 men pairs and 6 women pairs doing alternate relays on Day 1 and then relays of 12 mixed pairs for Day 2.

How about it – we’ve got the tandem…………………… can we have you!?

It’s been quite some time since we’ve posted anything! Apologies – it’s been a difficult few months in terms of caring duties but we hope to be more on top of posts etc going forward.

Please see the new half dozen posts of various videos etc. below. You’ll also notice that the photo album which keeps a record of all such posts on our page has been updated.

Our next carers support group meeting is Monday April 4th 1-4pm at Rathbone Library, William House, Rathbone Hospital, Mill Lane, Liverpool L13 4AW.

All welcome.

When I was first contacted by The Autism Science Foundation about being involved in the It Takes Brains campaign, I honestly didn’t know what to think. The campaign has the goal of urging families and individuals on the spectrum to “make the heroic decision to register for brain tissue donation.” I…

I've created a new photo album entitled Facebook Posts List.
This replaces a document of some time ago that listed the posts that have been put on the site. I think it's easier to access the list through photos rather than the document. Everytime I post items I'll update the last page photo (currently the list is up to a page 2).

Take a look - you should find something useful, somewhere!
The list starts from the very first post (rather than the last one), going back to January 2015 and to date there have been 54 posts.

NEWS FLASH!!

As most of you know we originally planned an Asperger Connections launch event back in May that at the last minute couldn't go ahead.

So instead, we are now going to be the charity that receives the proceeds from the Cavern Mecca event which is being held, at the Cavern, on Friday November 13 (7.30 till late). This event is held every year and a nominated charity (nominated by our trustee Julie Sudbury) receives all money raised (via ticket sales, raffles etc.).

For those who bought a ticket for the original May event, you can exchange this for a Cavern Mecca one (let me know please ASAP) at no extra cost.

Anybody without an 'old' ticket who wants to go, then likewise also please let me know ASAP, too, so I can get you tickets (£5 each). OR YOU CAN PAY ON THE DOOR.
