Grief is not one thing.
And there is no one way through it.
On our Level 5 Diploma, we don’t teach grief as a single model or a fixed pathway.
We explore it as something deeply human, complex, and unique to every person you will sit with.
You’ll be introduced to a range of powerful approaches, including the 5 and 7 stages of grief, Worden’s Four Tasks of Mourning, the Dual Process Model, and the Tonkin Model, each offering a different lens on loss and adaptation.
But we don’t stop at theory.
We bring these models into real therapeutic practice.
How do you sit with someone in early shock?
What does it look like when grief becomes stuck or complicated?
How do you support meaning-making after loss?
You’ll also explore narrative approaches to grief, helping clients gently re-author their story and find a way to carry their loss, rather than ‘move on’ from it.
This is the heart of integrative therapy.
Not choosing one way, but learning how to respond to the person in front of you, with depth, flexibility, and care.
If you’re feeling drawn to this work, it may be telling you something.
Our next cohort begins in September in Liverpool on Tuesday evenings at Our Lady & St.Swithin’s Primary School, Croxteth 6-9pm. Our course runs for two years (term time).
If you’re ready to deepen your understanding, grow in confidence, and train in a way that feels human and connected, we’d love to hear from you.
