Owned by David and Claire Barrington we are a very friendly team helping families to say goodbye to their loved ones in a way that is both personal and relevant to provide a good farewell. Do we choose a Cremation or a Burial? - this is a decision which may have been decided long ago or certainly before we have to think about it. From your first call into Barringtons we can guide you with choices and costs and advise on which way to go. The choice of funeral transport is still one of the most important aspects of the funeral experience. However, it is entirely up to you how you want to conduct this element of the funeral ceremony. Our team are here to help you in making the arrangements; having vast experience of arranging different types of funerals and are passionate that we can provide you with both an appropriate and significant service. Continuity of care is extremely important to us, wherever possible the person who arranges the funeral service also supervises the funeral on the day.

This service will be a time to remember your loved ones, share hope and find comfort in the community.

After the service, there will be refreshments and a chance to hang a tag for your loved one on the memorial tree in St Faith's ⭐

This year, Barringtons Funeral Services are teaming up with the Good Funeral Company and The Parish of St Faith's, Great Crosby to honour all families who have lost a loved one or wish to gather together just to remember someone special.

🎄 Date: Saturday 6th December

Claire and David have recently returned from an inspiring and productive trip to Chicago. Their visit combined academic lessons, business meetings, networking opportunities, and valuable insights into emerging industry trends. Between sessions, they explored the city’s vibrant culture and iconic landmarks, bringing back not only new ideas for our families but also a renewed sense of collaboration for the Barrington's team.

🕯️Light Up A Life Service🕯️

St Joseph's Hospice Light up a Life service is being held on Thursday 4th December from 4.30pm at St Josephs Hospice, Thornton, L23 4UE 🎄

𝘞𝘦 𝘮𝘢𝘺 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘣𝘦 𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘢𝘥𝘥 𝘥𝘢𝘺𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦, 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘴𝘶𝘱𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘸𝘦 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘢𝘥𝘥 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘥𝘢𝘺𝘴 💭

The Light up a Life service isn't just for people who have lost a loved one in hospice care, it's for anyone who would like to remember the special people they have lost in their life, express gratitude for someone or simply just to support St Joseph's Hospice and what they do.
It costs £10,000 every day to provide the care that is offered completely free of charge to patients and families. It's only through the kindness and generosity of the community that they are able to continue to support their patients.

There will be refreshments and entertainment before the service starts at 6pm.

This year, St Joseph's are also holding an indoor service which will take place on Wednesday 10th December, 2pm SS Peter and Paul's Church, Crosby. This service is great if you wish to attend a service that is earlier in the day and indoors.

Direct Cremation

You may have seen adverts on TV for direct cremation, also known as an 'unattended' cremation. This is a simple, dignified option without a traditional funeral service.
Direct cremations are an alternative choice for many reasons. Sometimes it can be that there is less 'fuss' or family are elsewhere and there are practical reasons to have the cremation first.

Your loved one is cared for in our funeral homes, and you can arrange a viewing, if desired, as an additional option. You get the same personal service as our bespoke service with a face to face meeting.

The cremation will then take place at a time chosen by us, without attendees. We will tell you when that will happen.
Then, the ashes are returned to you shortly afterwards.

This allows complete flexibility in how and when you choose to remember your loved one, maybe at a special place or on a meaningful date!

Today is World Mental Health Day 💭

Grieving a loved one can be hard and affect everyone in different ways, we want you to know that all of the Barringtons Team is here to support you, even after the funeral arrangements are finished.

The 9th of October marks the beginning of Baby Loss Awareness Week. 🎗️

This week is an opportunity to raise awareness and campaign for better bereavement care and support for families 🕯️

Together, we will:
Remember all babies
Raise awareness for the support available
Drive change to improve the care and support to save more babies' lives

Across the UK, many families will be joining in with the Wave of Light on the 15th of October at 7pm by lighting a candle to remember and support families who have been through the same experience.

The Good Funeral Company are holding their 'Forever Young' service on Wednesday 19th November, 7pm at The Lady Chapel, Liverpool Cathederal. For more information please visit
