Natural Breaks Ltd Providing person centred support to disabled and autistic adults in Liverpool City Region.

In 1991, we began as a pilot project; offering regular support services to 9 individuals, from 8 families across Liverpool. Things went so well that we were awarded additional funding to extend our service, and by 1995 we were supporting more than 50 people. 21 years on, we are supporting more people than ever before, and providing a range of services to meet individual needs.

We're looking forward to attending and being a part of Well Placed x Common Ground 2026 event at Scale 🚀

The event brings leaders from the health, social and third sector to join together and learn how we can best support one another. This is a fantastic opportunity for Natural Breaks to celebrate and connect with our communities.

Stay tuned for updates 💥

On Wednesday, we were thrilled to welcome The Casey Commission to Natural Breaks! The Commission has been set up by the Prime Minister and is being led by Baroness Casey to recommend how we should reform adult social care.

The Casey Commissioners visited people we support within their own homes followed by open and honest meetings with families/carers, staff and Trustees. Together, we spoke about the current social care system, challenges faced and the changes we would all like to see in the future 💥

The visit also provided the Casey Commission with a first-hand insight into the lived experiences of people we support, their day-to-day lives and the support they receive.

It was an incredible opportunity to showcase best practice, provide an important, front-line reflection of social care and highlight how meaningful, person-centred support can empower people to live full and independent lives 🚀

We’re grateful for the opportunity to contribute to such an important conversation and help shape a better future for social care and thank our friends at VODG for facilitating.

What a strike 🎳

Last night, we hosted our second monthly bowling nights for people we support, staff, families and friends alike! The evenings provide a safe space for people to connect, try something different and be part of their local community.

None of this would be possible without the Take a Break Project and our generous supporters.

Natural Breaks finished its last week of self-defence training for people we support, on Thursday! Over the course of 6 weeks, we have explored physical techniques, safety precautions, boundary setting and awareness of your environment.

Cathy and Gary from have been instrumental in helping people we support grow in confidence and ability, and the sessions would not have been possible without them.

Thank you for everything and we hope another 6-week course might be on the horizon, in the near future ⚡

Working together with our communities and building genuine partnerships is incredibly important to Natural Breaks. Last year, we collaborated with The VNC - AVCT to deliver inclusive football sessions to people we support.

The sessions were designed to build confidence, keep active and develop skills in a welcoming, fun environment ⚽

We're proud that through our partnerships and community work, we are able to offer more services and activities to people we support.

Our second to last week of self-defence training was a success 💥

During the session, people we support practised blocking and self-defence techniques, as well as learned how to escape or prevent a potentially dangerous situation.

The course has been a fantastic way for people to move their bodies, learn life-skills and boost confidence ✨

A huge thank you to Cathy and Gary from Mersey Budo Jujitsu!

Vicki loves films. They bring her comfort, joy and a chance to escape into another world 🎥

Last year, she started her very own film blog on Instagram - sharing her thoughts on films, of all genres, and pursuing her passion for cinema. Her dream is to become a professional film critic and host her own podcast, reviewing films to her hearts desire.

With the support of her family and team, Vicki's blog has grew in popularity and we can't wait to see where she heads next 🎬

This week, we had our fourth session of self-defence training 💥

Over the last few weeks, people we support have continued building their skills, knowledge and confidence!

All the sessions have helped people we support develop their understanding of boundaries, de-escalation and how to protect themselves if needed.

A huge thank you to Cathy and Gary for being brilliant teachers. If you would like to learn more about the activities and training we do at Natural Breaks, email:
