In our homes, sharing a cup of tea often leads to one-to-one chats, moments of reminiscence and the chance to really get to know one another.

Sometimes, the most meaningful connections are made over a simple cup of tea. 💛🩵

Burns Night at Acacia Bank was a celebration filled with music, memories and plenty of Scottish spirit! 🎵💛🩵

Yesterday, Acacia Bank care home was beautifully decorated with bunting and balloons, inspired by Burns Night.

Throughout the day, residents enjoyed Scottish music, a virtual tour of Scotland and a Burns Night quiz that sparked lots of conversation.

Their talented Chef prepared a Scottish-themed menu, giving residents the chance to try traditional dishes, including a haggis, which certainly got people talking.

This was a lovely way to bring back memories, and residents shared their own experiences of Scotland!

We always love welcoming visitors, and it’s been a real pleasure having Ruby with us on placement from Durham University.

She brought plenty of smiles along with some lovely, creative ideas. 🎨

Inspired by Ruby, our residents got crafty and made some beautiful bookmarks, enjoying every moment of trying something new together.

Fresh air is always good, especially when it’s during a shared walk.

Some of our lovely ladies enjoyed a gentle stroll around the beautiful garden at Whittington Care Home, taking time to chat, laugh and enjoy the surroundings we’re lucky to have. 🌿🌳

We absolutely love this time of year - it’s all about fresh ideas, big plans and building new connections in the community.

Our plans don’t just come from team meetings either; they’re shaped by the voices, interests and ideas of our residents, which makes them even more exciting.

Having a real sense of occupation matters so much, it keeps minds active, sparks creativity and brings a genuine feeling of pride. We can’t wait to share all the new projects, partnerships and moments that 2026 has in store! 💛🩵

No Blue Monday here, it’s – The Kettle is on! 🫖☕

In Britain, putting the kettle on is about more than making a drink; it’s an invitation to pause, sit together and have a proper chat.

Many of our residents have spent a lifetime “brewing up” for family, friends and neighbours, so it only feels right that we celebrate Brew Monday by doing what we do best, sharing a cuppa and enjoying each other’s company.

It’s often over a cup of tea and a biscuit that we open up, we share stories, laughter flows, and connections are made.

So yes… the kettle’s on, the biscuits are out, and there’s always room for one more… 🍪 🩵💛

At Whittington Care Home, some of our residents have been getting active using the Oomph platform, and it’s been brilliant to see.

Activities like these keep everyone busy in the best way and turn exercise into something to enjoy rather than a chore.
