Nine months post ACL reconstruction and this is where the real work shows.
Building the engine.
Doing the reps.
Hitting the targets.
Then going beyond them.
Return to sport is not a date in the diary. It is a performance standard.
It is easy to set up running drills. Straight lines. Pre planned cuts. Plenty of time to think.
But football, rugby, netball, basketball do not give you that luxury. Sport is chaotic. Decisions are reactive. Movements are unpredictable. Contact is real.
If your rehab does not include technical demand, cognitive load and limited reaction time, it will not prepare you for match play.
To be confident to return, you must be confident to perform.
Over the past year I have had two athletes discharged from hospital rehab and told they were ready for sport. No true exposure to chaotic drills. No performance based testing. No objective return to sport criteria.
That is exactly why I do what I do.
I will find where you are weak.
I will expose it.
Then we build it until it becomes strong and resilient.
Owen has trusted the process over the last few months. We have rebuilt strength. We have challenged change of direction under fatigue. We have layered reaction based drills. We have tested, retested and pushed standards.
Now he feels more confident than ever stepping back onto the pitch.
ACL rehab is not about surviving sessions.
It is about dominating them.
If you are post ACL and unsure whether you are truly ready for sport, message me. Let’s make sure you are not just cleared, but prepared. 💪
