Fife Sailability

Fife Sailability Fife Sailability is a Club specifically for those with a disability, it is based at Lochore Meadows Watersports Centre in central Fife.

RYA

We operate as part of the Royal Yachting Association's Sailability initiative, facilitating the exhilaration and freedom that sailing can bring to all. We can mix & match gentle cruising, hands on sailing or formal training to suit individual needs and welcome groups or single participants. Parents and/or carers are welcome to share the experience. We supply essential safety equipment but visitors need to wear clothing suitable for a cool and rainy day. We have a dedicated changing/shower/toilet facility for our disabled participants. We are qualified to transfer sailors with our certified hoists and set high standards in safety and protection of vulnerable persons.

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

Our club definitely runs on love, care, compassion, friendship and laughter. We are delighted so many people care about our club and are passionate about giving everyone the opportunity to get out on the water and experience sailing and powerboating.

Please tell us what you love about Fife Sailability?

Tonight's post is to reintroduce Neil.

Neil is a co-opted trustee and as a founding creator of Fife Sailability, is a fountain of knowledge which we always need! Neil is a key component and excels at 'problem solving'. He is able to give the other trustees the confidence we are working together in a positive direction.

His ability to teach all sorts of skills from sailing and powerboating to becoming a volunteer is superb.

With Neil around, there is away to do something, fix it or find someone who can sort the problem. He has a great list of contacts and is vital in recruiting volunteers to assist run the club.

If you think you can help us out, please get in touch.

Wonderful happy Bob is one of our trustees who helps with all the boat maintenance throughout the year, buddying on the weta and challengers and doing all the jetty jobs on club days.

I could go on and on listing things but the most important thing is for us to say thank you Bob for your continued help volunteering with Fife Sailability and your support.

Super news .... more parking is being created 😊

Great news for everyone who loves the Meedies!

We're getting ready for another busy year, and one of the first improvements on the way is more car parking. A brand‑new tarmac car park is being built right next to the main visitor centre, creating around 65 extra marked spaces.

This will make it much easier to get parked during busy times and help cut down congestion on those packed (and hopefully sunny) weekends we all know so well.

Work is expected to start in the coming weeks. It should take around a week to complete — so the extra space will be ready before you know it!

We'll keep you updated on here when work is about the begin.

This post is for Mark who is a volunteer and trustee. Mark brings a wealth of sailing and powerboating knowledge along with boat maintenance skills to the club.

Mark leads and organises any group booking requests and here is more info on how to book.

Fife Sailability offers the opportunity for care homes, schools or special needs organisations to arrange group outings on the loch using Fife Sailability specialised boats.

Morning or afternoons sessions are tailored to your needs are run by qualified volunteers.

These sessions are usually run during the week but for more information please email fife.sailability@gmail.com

For 10-12 people we suggested a donation of £100 for a full morning or afternoon session or £180 for a full day to cover the club's costs.

Please pass on to anyone who you think this may be off interest.

Info * 2026 membership fees *

There has been a minor change to the club's membership fees as they have been the same for a few years. We have increased the Adult and Junior fee by £5 to ensure our annualised club running costs are covered by the membership fees.

For 2026 there are 13 planned club days, so this works out at less than £7 per club day.

Adult £90, Junior (Under 18's) £55

There should never be a financial barrier to boating and should anyone have any problems or concerns then they should contact us.
