🚂💙 Our wonderful resident Scott has a big love for bridges, planes, and trains so we set out to make his wish come true with a special trip to the Bo’ness & Kinneil Railway!
🕰️ Stepping onto the platform felt like travelling back in time. From beautifully preserved steam and diesel locomotives to historic carriages and fascinating railway artefacts, there was so much to explore and admire.
🚆 Scott absolutely loved the train ride! Our journey began in Bo’ness, stopping at Kinneil Halt once home to Kinneil Pit, which closed in 1983.
🏭 Next stop was Birkhill Station, where the impressive Grangemouth Refinery fills the skyline, Scotland’s only oil refinery, opened back in 1924!
🌾 Our final stop was Manuel, where the engine moved to take us back, passing the remains of an old windmill at Myrehead Farm, believed to date back to the early 1700s.
😁🌟 The biggest highlight of the day? Seeing Scott’s smile from start to finish! He had so much fun, soaking in every moment, every sound, and every sight.
💙 A truly special day making a special wish come true.
