End of the busiest week of the year so far. A huge effort by our team. Despite also being down in numbers from illness and training, our team really stepped up. Following the announcement of the passing of Dr Lingam, we were overwhelmed by your responses and many of you have asked about a condolence book. We now have one at the front of reception if any of you would like to add your thoughts, condolences or best wishes to his family to it.

🗓️ In the month of December 2025 we lost over 27 hours of appointments because of no shows.

☎️ We fully understand there are genuine reasons for not being able to make your appointment but please let us know beforehand if possible. We might still be able to offer this appointment to someone else as many of our appointments are available on the same day.

⏱️ We try to run as efficiently as possible. Often reminders are sent out prior to an appointment and they are still missed. Almost an hour a day lost really takes a big chunk out of valuable NHS resources.

Apologies, we don’t often rant. We know the vast majority of you don’t do this and value our service.

We keep trying to improve and if you have any ideas to help us cut down on this waste, we are all ears. 🙂

Hi everyone. Some sad news for us at Summerfield and possibly for some of you that knew him. Dr Lingam passed away peacefully last week after a long illness. He was at Summerfield (previously Lattimore and Village Surgeries) for 12 years from 2011. His energy and sense of humour helped carry our team through a few difficult times including the pandemic. Our condolences go out to his family and those closest to him. He has not left without an impact on many patients and our wider team and we will miss him.
