There’s a huge difference between a lab-based qFIT test and an at-home lateral flow FIT/FOB test.

✅ qFIT tests:
✔ Quantitative test – measures the exact amount of blood in your stool
✔ Highly sensitive, used by the NHS
✔ Validated by lots of studies
✔ Lab-processed and UKAS regulated
✔ Provides a numeric result - no ambiguity

⚠️ At-home FIT/FOB tests:
❌ Are a type of lateral flow tests showing presence or absence of blood via a line (like Covid tests)
❌ Less sensitive, prone to errors reading result
❌ Not validated for bowel cancer screening
❌ No regulatory oversight
❌ Requires visual reading of a line - prone to misreading and false results

Think you'd know if you had coeliac disease because of the common symptoms?
Not always.😬
