Good Discomfort vs. Just Discomfort 🤔

Not all discomfort leads to growth! Here’s how to tell the difference:

✅ Good Discomfort
• Challenges you in a way that builds resilience 💪
• Feels uncomfortable but leads to progress 🚀
• Example: Public speaking, learning a new skill 🎤📚

🚨 Just Discomfort
• Drains you without real benefits 😩
• Causes burnout & emotional exhaustion 💔
• Example: Toxic environments, overworking ❌

✨ Growth requires the right kind of discomfort! Know when to push & when to step back.

💬 What’s a “good discomfort” you’ve embraced lately?👇

Have come across a video saying: I am challenging myself this January – I am going to make it through every single day! 🤣

Funny for some, there is some truth to this: “just making it through.” A difficult month for many, simply making it through can be just enough.

However, whilst we nearly made it through January, there remains a risk of applying this view to the rest of the year. Making it through is great, but we deserve to do a lot better than that. Circumstances will require us to live our lives a certain way: we have responsibilities and big changes don’t happen overnight.

What can change is the way HOW we are making it through the days and months ahead. It is so repetitive as it is true, going back to what we are grateful for is the most powerful tool, but there is a tiny bit of a skill to practise gratitude so you can reap the most benefits. Having a mental list of things to be grateful for is always handy, but – hear me out here – try to feel it in your body. Look around you and look at the most mundane things with a new perspective. The things that are available to us every day, like a daily hot shower, people didn’t have only 100 years ago. Being warm, getting hot food, knowing what the weather is going to be like at the press of a button. Those are all small miracles and we are so much richer in our lives for seeing them as such. Having heard this before doesn’t make it less true.

Here is the catch... read more in the comments.

Positive habits should come easy to us but a daily reminder can’t hurt!

It’s okay to be “not optimal” and out of kilter every now and again or maybe there is a deeper issue that we can’t really put our finger on. Whatever it is that makes us feel a bit less than great, small routines can help us to get our body and mind in a far better state to tackle whatever it is that needs attention in our lives.

No one is great at solving problems when they are tired or wired or sun-deprived. We are in charge to help ourselves giving us these tiny amounts of love ❤️ to then pass on to others.

Feel free to zoom in on the second picture and give yourself a tick when you have done one of our positive habits today.

Sending love
Anna

Adopting the mindset that “I am always open-minded and eager to explore new avenues of success” can serve as a guiding principle for personal development. Consider it a gentle reminder to yourself to remain receptive to the myriad opportunities life presents. This outlook encourages you to look at situations, opportunities, and even challenges through a lens of curiosity and willingness to learn. It’s about giving yourself permission to step out of your comfort zone and explore uncharted territories with an open heart.

This approach doesn’t just mean chasing after every new opportunity but rather being discerning and proactive about the paths you choose to take. It’s recognizing that growth often comes from the unexpected and that resilience is built through navigating the ups and downs of these explorations. Every experience, whether deemed a success or a learning moment, contributes to your personal and professional evolution.

By keeping this affirmation close to heart, you encourage a mindset of adaptability—a crucial trait in navigating life’s changes and uncertainties. It’s about trusting in your capacity to face the new and unknown with a sense of preparedness and positivity. Let this mindset be a compass that guides you, reminding you that your journey is about embracing growth at every turn. Remember, it’s the explorations along the way that enrich your path to success.

The essence of it all is that we have the power to learn to sail our ships and take control over our own destinies and live with courage. Storms will come but we will weather them because we are continuously learning how to sail our ship.

With self-love and self-belief we can be much more than reactive to the things that occur in life.
