Emily Altneu gave her mother, Jane, the ultimate gift - a kidney ❤
Jane became the first Londoner to receive a transplant once surgeries resumed after the pandemic’s second wave brought organ donations to a halt.
Jane, a former teacher, was forced to retire early when polycystic kidney disease, a genetic condition, caused her kidneys to fail.
After years of managing the condition, a transplant became her only option and thanks to Emily, Jane was given a new lease on life.
The transplant took place at St George’s Hospital and as they approach their fourth 'kidneyversary' the generous pair are raising money for St George's Hospital Charity as a thank you to the dedicated renal team that supported them.
Emily, a Pilates instructor, is hosting a Pilates class, which is suitable for all abilities, on Wednesday 26 February from 6-7pm.
Please email Emily to sign up for the class at hello@emilyaltneupilates.com and you will be sent details on how to join the online class.
