Tennis has always been a significant aspect of my life, both in the past and present. At the age of 12, I achieved the championship in Israel and earned a week-long trip to Wimbledon to witness the matches alongside Shahar Perkins (although I'm uncertain if he remembers). Instead, I chose to fly to the United States to participate in tournaments, a decision that altered the course of my life and led me down a different path. Currently, I find myself on a journey to London where my beloved husband pleasantly surprised me, and here we are.

The good news post is here! Part 4
Leaky Gut? We CAN rebuild the lining.
A four-step process for helping to heal leaky gut:
The 4 R's
-Remove foods and factors that damage the gut.
-Replace these with healing foods as you follow an anti-inflammatory leaky gut diet.
-Repair the gut with specific leaky gut supplements like collagen, licorice root, marshmallow root, bone broth, apple cider, ginger
-Rebalance your microbiome with probiotics (beneficial bacteria).
Remember the HCL solution I mentioned earlier? (see previous 3 posts) Antacids, sugars and inflammatory foods can decrease this crucial solution and can cause unbalanced bacterial overgrowth that can lead to leaky gut and helicobacter.
Also - less stress, decrease junk food and get enough sleep.
-Remember: The aromatic use of fragrance oils can have a monumental impact on our gut bacteria. That’s because our olfactory system has a symbiotic relationship with our vagus nerve, which regulates our gut-brain-axis.

Therefore, essential oils might be able to biohack your mental and digestive health! (Just Gut Science.com)
Some of our recommended oils:
*Peppermint Essential Oil: This oil can make those minor stomach pains go away, and research shows that when combined with fiber, peppermint oil can be effective at treating IBS.This oil can be taken internally with water or diluted with coconut oil and rubbed on the abdomen (zyto.com).
Thyme Essential Oil: Used by the ancient Greeks and Egyptians, thyme is another beneficial oil for gut health. This herb has been found effective in treating small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) while protecting beneficial bacteria at the same time (zyto.com).

Leaky Gut Part 3
When someone has a 'leaky gut', it means that the gut lining is damaged and cannot optimally function as a barrier any longer.
(Remember I mentioned in the previous post about the small intestine and its role in absorption.) The smaller holes become larger and allow harmful substances like gluten, bad bacteria, and undigested food particles to enter your system and cause considerable damage to health.
The lining of the gut is where minerals are being absorbed, and a lot of times when the lining is not tight enough there is a decrease in absorption in crucial minerals like calcium, zinc, iron and many vitamins.
When your gut is "leaky" and bacteria and toxins enter the bloodstream, it can cause inflammation and in many cases trigger a reaction from the immune system. Symptoms of leaky gut syndrome include bloating, food sensitivities, fatigue, digestive issues and skin problems.
The good news is that we can rebuild the lining. Yes, we can!
The next post will tell you how, so follow along!

What is the term "Leaky gut" anyway, have you ever heard of it before today?

It’s a term used often in functional medicine.

When someone has a 'leaky gut', it means that the gut lining is damaged and cannot optimally function.

This could mean

loss
issues

problems

disease
sensitivities
disease

And more. If any of this describes you, follow along!
In my next post I will explain this in detail, and how it’s all connected, so look out for it.

Sunday Story Time!

"A client called me about a pain in her daughter’s ear.

We know today that most of the time we don’t need to use antibiotics for ear infections.

Research shows that in 80% of cases, antibiotics does NOT bring the results expected and there is a need for multiple courses of medication.

I recommended that she take a mix of lavender, which is an antibacterial and analgesic, basil, and tea tree oils, and blend it onto a cotton ball.

She was to leave in the ear for a few minutes, and repeat 3-4 times a day for 2-3 days, or until pain resides...

She thanked me and called me to tell me that it worked and she did not need to use antibiotics for her child!"

She gave the advice to a few of her friends, and here we are sharing this with you.

Self care today is needed more than ever!!
