Here I tell you the things I’ve learned studying psychology that I think everybody should know about:

1. Cannabis doubles the risk of having a psychotic break
2. People with schizophrenia are not more aggressive than the general population. But they do suffer more aggression from others.
3. Viewing a mental disorder as entirely biological is a mistake. Life history, environment and social conditions are essential.
4. Hallucinations do not only occur in psychosis. A severe depression may also have hallucinations.

You want a spoiler on life? Well we don’t always get what we want or need, and that’s alright.

Every struggle we face we have to take it as a lesson, and if we don’t we’ll probably end up getting insane because that’s just the way life works even if it sucks.

According to studies being in lasts between 6 months and 3 years, but love carries on after that and it’s what makes us still want to be together.

So, what’s the difference? Being in love is a phase of the , where everything seems perfect and we don’t see the flaws in our . It’s the phase where we feel like we’re living in a movie but, even if we want to, this can’t last forever.

When this phase ends we enter in the “disappointment” phase, were we realise our expectations aren’t met and when we realise this isn’t a fairytale.

So, what do we do when we enter the disappointment phase? Well, we have 3 options:

1. We work on making the relationship better and try changing some behaviours.

2. We break up.

3. Try again and again to be between the “being in love” phase and the “disappointment” phase.

If we choose option 1 and we work on our relationship, then we can enter the phase of “true love” or “matured love”.

This happens all the time.

You meet someone, and really you don’t even like them that much, but you want them to want you.

You need to get to their heart, for them to choose you, but you also know you don’t have a special connection with them.

So then, why do we want someone to want us so badly?

Because we put our value on what the other person gives to us.

But that makes us end up in that are build based on a challenge, and once you get them or they get you, the relationship is over.

It works to confirm how incredible we are, or the opposite, confirm how we’re not worthy of .

That’s why we idealise, we put in them expectations and thing they have loads of capacities and then we want them to choose us.

I relate a lot specially with the first one, over the years I’ve had a lot of people take advantage of my kindness but that shouldn’t make you change who you are, the world needs more people like you, and some people will try to take advantage of that because they’re hurting or because nobody has ever been kind to them.

We don’t know what other people is going through so it’s important to still be kind and still be ourselves and by doing that we can make someone’s day❤️
