It can also be tricky to determine what’s genuine, what will help and if it’s relevant to you.

But it doesn’t have to be that complicated.

Good health is actually pretty simple.

Truthfully, most people already know what good nutrition and a healthy lifestyle look like.

It’s just hard to do in this modern world.

How to slow down with the season 🍂

During the autumn months, our bodies naturally want to slow down and go with the new rhythm of the shorter days.

Allowing your body to do this, even in little ways, can help you feel more regulated and relaxed- making your health goals easier to hit!

One of the best ways to match the natural cycle of the season is to look at your food.

🍲 Switching to seasonal foods that feel warm and nourishing
🥗Swap salads for soups
🍎Have porridge instead of smoothies
🍠 Eat more root veggies like beetroot, parsnips, sweet potatoes and butternut squash
🥬 Eat seasonal leafy greens like cabbage and kale

You will always benefit from listening to your body.

But here’s what is⬇️

Don’t get me wrong, a nice bubble bath or a relaxing day at the spa is great, but that alone won't calm your nervous system.

Especially if you’ve spent the whole week pushing yourself to the limit with work, family and exercise.

What you need to do is make your body feel safe.

It's a basic and primal concept that works every time.

But it requires consistency and repetition👀

Your body requires subtle signals on a daily basis to feel safe.

This includes things like consistently eating 3 meals a day and having a regular morning routine.

And before you panic and think that you don’t have time for a morning routine, I’m talking about implementing 5 minutes of deep breathing or yoga.

It’s not about overcommitting- that’ll ultimately cause more stress.

It's about the simple things:

😌 Go to sleep and wake up at the same time every day
😌 Eat 3 meals at the same time each day
😌 Take 2-minute deep breath breaks throughout the day

Rhythm and consistency are the key.

Not monthly spa trips and bubble baths.

You’ve tried everything…

And yet the symptoms keep coming back.

Here’s why ⤵️
When your nervous system is dysregulated, your body doesn’t just react to food. It becomes hypersensitive to almost everything:
✨ Chemicals or fragrances in your environment
✨ Certain foods (even “healthy” ones)
✨ Emotional stress
✨ Lifestyle triggers like overexercising or coffee on an empty stomach

This is because a body stuck in fight-or-flight is primed for survival, not digestion and repair. Your immune system stays on high alert, your gut lining becomes more reactive, and inflammation can rise.

Until you teach your nervous system it’s safe, the cycle won’t break—no matter how clean your diet is or how many supplements you take.

Supplements and biohacking can make a difference to your health — but they’re only the final 20%.

If you haven’t nailed the basics, it’s like trying to patch one flat tyre while the other three are missing completely… 🚗💨

The real foundation (the 80%)?
✅ Diet
✅ Sleep
✅ Nervous system regulation
✅ Movement

Master these first and you’ll be amazed how many symptoms (yes, even during menopause or with chronic illness) start to fade away. 🙌

Why breathwork isn’t working for you 👇

I recently completed a Pranayama teacher training 🌬️✨—and one thing I often hear is that breathwork “doesn’t work.”

Here are 3 reasons why that might be the case:

1️⃣ The wrong type
You’ve probably come across trending styles like Wim Hof or holotropic breathing. These can be powerful for some, but they may also push the body into extreme states—which isn’t always supportive if your nervous system is already sensitive. Traditional pranayama practices are designed to regulate and balance.

2️⃣ Inconsistent practice
Like any tool, breathwork needs consistency. A few deep breaths now and then might help in the moment, but it won’t rewire your nervous system long-term. Lasting benefits come from regular, gentle practice.

3️⃣ Not truly focusing on the breath
If your mind is wandering or you’re rushing through a technique, you may not get the full effect. Breathwork works best when the breath becomes your anchor—when you bring your attention fully to it.

💭 My belief is that nervous system regulation is the key to optimal health, because it directly supports digestion, immunity, and overall healing. And breathwork, when done in the right way, is one of the most powerful ways to create that regulation.

New Scrambled Tofu Recipe - Tag A Tofu Lover 🫶

Ingredients:

280g extra firm tofu
1 tbsp hummus
1 tbsp nutritional yeast
3 tbsp water
1 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp turmeric
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp chilli flakes
1/2 tsp coconut oil
1/2 tsp salt

Method:

In a bowl combine the hummus, water and nutritional yeast. Whisk until ingredients are combined.

Drain tofu and squeeze out excess liquid with kitchen roll.

Melt the coconut oil in a medium sized sauce pan.

Break the tofu into big chunks then crumble into the pan. I like mine really quite crumbly but it’s really up to you if you like a smaller or larger crumb.

Add cumin, turmeric, cayenne pepper and chilli to the tofu and mix well, then cook for 5 minutes, stirring regularly until slightly golden.

Take the pan off the heat and add in the hummus mixture and stir until all combined.

Put the pan back on the heat and cook for another 5 minutes.

Taste and season with salt as necessary.

One of my absolute favourite snacks in the summer is frozen cherries! 🍒

You can buy them in bags, keep them in the freezer and they make the perfect sweet treat after a meal.

Because they’re frozen, they’re like eating little ice lollies!

But because they’re a natural source of melatonin, they’re also great at helping you sleep 😴
