Our Remedial Massage and Myotherapists have vacuum cupping as one of their tools to help you recover from pain and injury. We use hard plastic and silicone cups rather than glass cups with flames - it is faster and we can't burn down the clinic! Bonus!

They also use massage, myofascial release, stretching, dry needling, taping corrective exercise and a whole host of other techniques depending on your age, injury, sport and personal preferences.

Lower back joint pain while Deadlifting should be considered a massive red flag, period.
Pain typically occurs because of a lack of stability around the vertebrae when performing the movement.
You want your spine to be free of movement when performing the lift. The spine is a stabiliser of the Deadlift not a force producer.
So when the vertebrae shift during a Deadlift there are considerable "shearing" forces at play which again is a big red flag as the spine is all about "compressional" forces. Bulge discs or herniation is common when this pain is ignored.
All that being said, don't let this post scare you away from Deadlifting, it is truly a wonderful movement that carries over to life better than most. and we prescribe it to most clients.
Just listen to your body, if it's telling you it doesn't like what you're doing and you can't change it, then come in and we will teach you how to Deadlift like the best of them.

The human body was designed to squat, so if your knees hurt when squatting then it's important to remember that there might not actually be anything wrong with your knees, your brain could be just trying to tell you it doesn't like how you're doing them. Whether that's because of a lack of mobility, stability or just poor patterning is up to us to figure out for you.

You amazing people wanted to come and train with a friend, so we have opened up small group training!

Up to four people can now train with Tristan at Dolphins Fitness and Aquatic, and each pay only $35pp for 30min sessions and $55pp for 60min sessions!

This includes programming for you to take away and train together or separately during the week too.
