Butterfly Pea [Clitoria ternatea] 💙

With its striking indigo blossoms, butterfly pea has been used for centuries in traditional medicine and tea rituals across Asia. Beyond its beauty, this vibrant flower offers a wealth of health-supporting properties.

💙 Antioxidant shield – Rich in anthocyanins that help protect cells from oxidative stress and premature aging.

💙 Brain tonic – Traditionally revered as a medhya (memory-enhancing) herb in Ayurveda, modern studies show it may support learning, memory, and cognitive function.

💙 Stress soother – Promotes calmness and relaxation, making it a gentle ally for easing anxiety and tension.

💙 Mood supporter – Helps lift the spirits and encourage emotional balance.

💙 Skin & hair nourisher – Antioxidants promote healthy, radiant skin and strong, lustrous hair.

💙 Eye protector – May reduce oxidative damage in retinal cells, supporting vision health.

Butterfly pea is more than just a blue tea – it is a flower of clarity and calm. Energetically, it cools excess heat in the body and mind, soothes frayed nerves, and invites a state of serenity and clear vision. 🌿💙

🤧 Cold & flu season doesn’t have to mean doing the most.

These are a few habits I lean on as a herbalist to reduce exposure, support the body, and keep things simple - from nasal saline (a first line of defence), to nourishment through food and herbs, to rest and gentle immune support before illness hits.

🌿 Herbs don’t have to be complicated or intense to be effective.
Often, consistency beats intensity.

Save this for cold & flu season 💙
and share it with someone who likes a gentler, more grounded approach.

Your Menstrual Phase = Your Inner Winter ❄️

This is the deep rest season of your cycle. Hormones like estrogen and progesterone drop to their lowest levels, which is why your body naturally slows down and asks for softness, warmth, and nourishment.

Here’s how to support yourself during this phase:

🛌🏽 Prioritise rest – Your metabolic rate is slightly higher, so fatigue is normal. Rest is productive here.

🫜 Choose warming, iron-rich foods like stews, leafy greens, beetroots and mushrooms to replenish what you lose during bleeding.

🌿 Add blood-building herbs such as nettle, and seaweeds to support red blood cell production.

🫚 Use warming herbs (ginger, clove, cinnamon etc) to ease cramps and increase circulation to the uterus.

🧘🏽‍♀️ Support your nervous system with breath work, meditation, and restorative movement.

🍊 Boost immunity and iron absorption with vitamin C–rich foods — your immune system dips slightly during menstruation.

Breastfeeding isn’t just “feeding.” It’s biology, chemistry, intuition and connection - all woven together in a way only the human body can do. ✨

In this carousel, we’re diving into the science of why breastmilk is such a powerful first food: its living composition, how it adapts to your baby, the hormones that make milk production possible, and the incredible changes your body goes through to nourish new life.

And as always, this isn’t about shame or pressure. Not everyone can breastfeed, not everyone wants to, and every family’s story is valid. But every mother deserves to understand the magic and the mechanics — so she can make informed decisions that feel right for her, her body, and her baby. 💛

Swipe through to learn:
🌿 what breastmilk is made of
👶🏾 how it changes with your baby’s needs
🧠 the hormones behind milk production
💗 what breastfeeding does to your body
🍵 the herbs that can support you postpartum

I hope this empowers you, validates you, and reminds you of the incredible intelligence your body holds — the kind our ancestors trusted long before modern science could explain it.

Save this for later 🤍 and share it with a mama who needs some gentle support.

Your liver is one of the hardest-working organs in your body - constantly filtering toxins, metabolising hormones, aiding digestion, and storing vital nutrients. ✨

Hepatic herbs are those that support, protect, and restore the liver. They don’t replace what your liver does naturally, but they can give it the extra support it needs to keep up with modern life.

Think of all the daily pressures - processed food, alcohol, medications, environmental toxins, stress. Over time, these can place a burden on the liver, slowing its efficiency and showing up as sluggish digestion, hormonal imbalance, fatigue, or skin flare-ups.

Incorporating the right hepatics into your routine can:
🪻 Strengthen and protect liver cells
🪻 Support healthy hormone metabolism
🪻 Enhance bile flow for smoother digestion
🪻 Build long-term resilience

Your body already detoxes beautifully - hepatics simply help it do so with more ease. 💜

🌱✨ Nettle & Red Clover ✨🌱

Did you know that these two humble plants can nourish some of the most vital systems in your body? 💚

🔹 Adrenal glands – tiny but mighty, they sit above your kidneys and help you respond to stress by producing hormones like cortisol and adrenaline. When supported, they keep your energy, mood, and stress response balanced.

🔹 Endocrine system – this is your body’s hormone network, including the thyroid, ovaries/testes, pancreas, adrenals, and more. Hormones are the body’s messengers, regulating everything from sleep and metabolism to reproduction and mood. When this system is nourished, you feel more in balance.

🔹 Lymphatic system – think of it as your inner cleansing river. It carries away waste, helps fight infections, and plays a key role in your immune system. When your lymph flows well, your body feels lighter, less sluggish, and more resilient.

✨ This is why herbs like nettle and red clover can be so supportive – they don’t just work on one symptom, but nourish whole-body systems that keep you well and thriving. 🌿

🍁 Inner Autumn/Fall is here and she’s asking for boundaries, balance, and blood sugar support.

Your luteal phase is the longest phase of your cycle - and often the most emotionally sensitive. This is when PMS tends to show up, and your body starts preparing for either pregnancy or your next period🤰🏽🩸

Here’s how to support yourself during this time:

🍠 Focus on complex carbs & magnesium to stabilise mood and cravings

🧘🏽‍♀️ Lean into slow movement and reflective practices (journaling, inner work)

🛁 Prioritise self-care and warm, nourishing meals

🌿 Use hormone-balancing herbs to help your body ease into menstruation

✨ And don’t forget - set those boundaries! Your energy is precious right now.
