🌱Wild oats is one of my absolute favourite! It is a very gentle herb making it ideal for everyday use. I prescribe it for people experiencing high stress to help them wind down in the evenings and help them sleep better. Oats are highly nourishing and nutritious full of minerals like calcium, magnesium, silica, iron and vitamins. Oats are vital to a healthy nervous system. Wild oats are relaxing and strengthening at the same time.
Lavender, another one of my favourites always present in my herbal cupboard. Lavender calms the mind and lifts the spirits. It is a great ally for stress and sleeping difficulties. Lavender helps you to focus and concentrate.
Passion flower, such a stunning flower! It is a magnificent relaxant and sedative as well as an antispasmodic making it particularly useful for muscle twitching and cramps. I love having passion flower before and during my bleed.
🍃Lemon balm has the most delightful aroma in my opinion. Lemon balm was brought by the Romans who valued it to clear the mind, improve memory and lift the spirits. It reduces tension and has restorative properties. Lemon balm is useful for protecting the nervous system against free radical damage and preventing age related mental decline due to its antioxidant rosmarinic acid.
🌹Oh, Rose, wonderful Rose. The queen herb for the heart. I might be biased because I am going through a Rose phase, and I have connected deeply with this herb. Rose has long been valued for strengthening the heart and refreshing the spirit. Rose is restoring and calming and can be used in cases of irritability, anger and mental fatigue.
Which one of these do you have in your cupboard or maybe your garden? If you do, I invite you to smell it, connect with it and maybe make a cup of tea with it.
