HOW TO MAKE A HEART-HEALTHY SMOOTHIE
INGREDIENTS:
1) 1 small raw beet, peeled and chopped (about 1/2 cup) – natural nitrates that can help blood vessels relax.
2) 1/2 cup mixed berries (fresh or frozen) – antioxidants that support blood vessel health.
3) 1/2 banana – extra potassium for blood pressure regulation.
4) 1 cup spinach – potassium and magnesium, both important for blood pressure.
5) 1 tablespoon ground flax or chia seeds – fiber and omega‑3 fats for heart health.
6) 1 cup unsweetened soy milk or other unsweetened plant milk – avoids extra sugar and can add protein.
7) A few ice cubes and a squeeze of lemon (optional) for taste.
DIRECTIONS:
1) Add the milk and spinach to the blender first and blend until smooth.
2) Add beet, berries, banana, seeds, ice, and lemon.
3) Blend until completely smooth; add a little more liquid if it is too thick.
